I'd have driven down if I wasn't on shift Saturday night, I still need to tick the new Wimbledon ground off.

Probably including the people who just before Xmas stated they would not attend another game until Rupp was gone.

 

I'd like to get to this ground one day but like Northern Monkey I too am working Saturday night. I fancy us to maybe sneak a win just by the odd goal, but a draw would be a great result too. Up the Bantams!

 

I wouldn't be that surprised if Wimbledon beat us, so I'll take a draw.

A win would be out of this world though.

Matt Stevens might be injured according to some Wombles.

 

Doesn't sound like he'd be much of a threat anyway.

 

Why? 13 league goals so far this season suggests he would be a threat to me.

 

Looks like they play the same system we do. Even if Stevens doesn't play, it will be either Bugiel or Piggott as their loan striker, so their plan wont change, it's still a big physical forward up front than a pacey player so cant imagine it changes our plan much either. Wimbledon signed a young striker yesterday who has scored 12 in 20 so far this season in NLS.

Like a lot of teams to be honest. Seems like everyone is playing either a 343/541 or 352/532 wing back tactic these days in L2, same with L1, it's just if the team plays 2 up top with 1 AM or a lone striker and 2 attacking mids. Days of the hoof to a little and large partnership are pretty much over.

 

I was glad to see the back of Matt. I know their play was a bit predictable but I'm not sure our young back line had the nous to cope with him for 90 mins

 

Absolutely right. Walsall , unless they recruit properly , have lost their front two and main goalscorers in the space of a week. As a result they have since found to their cost, victories aren’t a given. On the other side of the coin we lost our talisman Cookie and look what’s happened . It’s a funny old game ?

 

Yes he was a threat of course but one being dealt with , however they were like a ship without a rudder when he got the hamstring injury . Cope with him or he’s absent and you nullify their team as their last two games have shown. Nobody can bring on a 6ft 2” Bambi young lad and expect him to play like the old stager Jamille Matt. Could they come a real cropper, I think they may scrape it with enough points in the bank?

In fairness the away form has improved of late. That bad loss at Notts, had a great point at Crewe a point at Barrow (but perhaps a typical away performance this season) and professionally good against Carlisle.

However, I could see a 1-0 defeat here. We have to lose sometime and I think this is our toughest remaining away fixture (the Salford, Vale, Donny and Chesterfield matches will be open matches against teams who are expected to play footie - which is what we like, i.e. look at the opposition for our three away wins)
