It will mean something if we don't get promoted!

It'll be a cup win that will be in out history for ever.

A trip to wembley with a victory that will last in memories.

I've been twice to see us win? Notts county I the 90s and Northampton and it was great also seen us lose there a couple of times but whether it was a promotion trip or cup trip i couldn't care

It wouldn't surprise me if someones bid lets face it he is a real talent at this level and the right age, thats not what GA said but I wouldn't trust him to give the whole truth unless it suits, and Rayner lets him get away with murder, pally interviewing with very little given out.

I agree,if Pointon was just being rested then why not put him on the bench so that he could come on for the last 20 minutes. Raynor should have asked this but just accepted he was giving him a rest. We shall see on Monday.

He could expect to be 4-6 weeks in a sling from rotator cuff surgery if he has ligament issues. Could be season ending.

As someone has previously posted it deemed we need to give a kid just gone 21 last month a rest because Wimbledon were a physical team, yet 34 year old Richie Smallwood has basically played every game this season and apart from Andy Cook before his injury was one of the first players on the team sheet.

I've been lucky enough to see us win there twice (once in the old Wembley obvs), and lose there twice, all in games that meant something. I know there will be plenty that will want to go again if we get there in this cup but honestly, I couldn't be less interested.

I have a relative who dislocated his shoulder the week before Lewis, and he’s only made the bench last week after having an op.

He thinks he's a Vinny Jones clone, having said that he made his opposite number aware he was in for a hard physical game, I'm not sure who Alexander played as our striker it would have made much difference, it was quick passing in the final third that may have opened them up, but possibly the hardest game we could have had during our good little run, its now up to the players to get back to winning ways, which I believe with the fixtures coming up we will do.

Yes that's why I was hoping he could continue until the closed season.

Probably because Smallwood is pretty much indestructible. How many games has he missed through injury in his City career? I bet you can count them on one hand.

That and the fact that we don't really have a ready made replacement whereas we've a few options to play in the advanced role.

Reeves probably got decent balls in due to his contract nearly being up the foking parasite ............never forgiven that rat for downing tools once he earned a deal at City.

Tough resulttoday but not the end of the world Saturday a big game now dont want our decent form to turn into a run of really bad form

Totally agree, if he’s injured or unwell then fair enough, but like you say 20 minutes off the bench he could have impacted the game.

The cup game is irrelevant. We are not resting our best players for a crappy cup nobody cares about until they reach the final

West Yorkshire Sport Daily - AFC Wimbledon 1-0 Bradford City: Graham Alexander - BBC Sounds

I don't understand why during this interview he keeps commenting about resting players Pointon, Halliday, etc and quoting about a tough schedule coming up, Tuesday nights game in the bigger picture shouldn't be in that category, yet it seems that is the reason he didn't play Halliday and didn't give Pointon a place on the bench, as others have posted having Pointon on the bench and losing maybe 70 minutes in a Pointon could have unpicked Wimbledon's very disciplined defence, we'll never know but it makes for good banter.

You mentioned your young kids experiencing a cup win but you type like you’re 12 year old. How does that work?

Look at the attendances for the league rounds of this cup and even the semi finals etc, small numbers

I doubt Lewis Richards will be taking thrown ins for a while that's for sure.

Typical L2 game. Scrappy with little quality but a draw probably would've been about right.

Too much long ball nonsense today. They did it too but had a striker to make it work which we definitely don't. Mellon looked more of a number nine than Kavanagh does but we still need a striker before Monday.

Just to clarify: Pointon is not a world beater but he has been very influential just lately.
I would hope our focus is promotion and not the Vertu cup. It may be that Pointon had a little knock and Alexander chose to give him a few days extra to recover rather than risk him aggravating something. But, if Alexander simply rested Pointon so that he could play on Tuesday, he should be fired. We need our best players in order to GET POINTS! Not some success in some bloody vanity project.
