Exactly the kind of central defender I said i wanted us to sign in the summer window. We miss that experienced, strong central defender to be a rock in the defence.

 

You should when;

1. You're in the middle of 11 matches in 35 days
2. The 21-year old struggles at times against more physical players. He's often too easily knocked off the ball (once he gets that aspect of his game right, the sky's the limit)
3. You're playing the most physical team in the league.

 

I like his thinking. Makes sense to me.

 

I agree to a point. You can switch off if you're 3-0 up. The penalty was a clumsy challenge - here we just give them a free header.

Opposition will alway create half chances. We can't give them easy chances like today.

A 21 year old should be well capable of playing a full season whoever it is

 

I hope it's just a matter of putting Richards shoulder back in and maybe an operation in the closed season, even though going forward Tyrek had a descent 60+minutes he certainly doesn't offer what Richards does IMO.
I'm not sure those asking why Pointon was rested were suggesting he's Bradford City's answer to Maradonna but he does play passes that few of our other players seem capable of playing, I would have rather seen Pointon play today than in a Ventura game on Tuesday night.

 

It's about as exciting as the Tom Banks Memorial against BPA every preseason.

Get someone to design a big trophy for it.

I thought after about 60 minutes we stopped doing what has been successful for a number of weeks, i.e getting the wingbacks going. Richards was sat too deep as was Johnson. Baldwin when he’s on it, he’s on it, but boy when he’s off he makes terrible decisions. I was quite suprised we stopped with the short passing and played into Wimbledons hands by going long and letting Lewis scoop everything up. The ball spent so much time in the air second half and that just doesn’t suit us. Better decision making should have seen us come away with a point, but it’s how we respond now. 2 changes in defence is never good. Do we go out and get a specialist LWB because Wright doesn’t give me any confidence he can attack or defend as well as Richards.

When it starts to happen as frequently as a couple of times a season though it is a concern and probably needs surgery to sort it out.

 

Is it really though?
A trophy we can win every season at horsfall just up tge road or a cup final at Wembley that actually means something and that in the past has had 85-90 thousand fans in attendance.

It will mean nothing if we don't get promoted and will be nothing more than a nice little side dish if we do.

 

Just wondering if the reason Pointon didn’t play was because they have had an offer for him?

 

If he has an op it’ll be 6 to 8 weeks out.
