Just thinking the same myself. We have just made it even harder to bring quality players in, maybe even ones we thought we had lined up in the coming week

The whole point of him not getting booked was so he could play in these last 3 big games.

He’s been as piss poor as most in these last 2.

Grow up. You clearly follow football like a 10 year old and clearly don’t have any sort of understanding how it works in the real world.

I've expressed it several times but imo, the last thing Stefan wanted was a second promotion to the Championship. His pockets couldn't take the financial pressure and I don't blame him for that. But expectations have already been raised and even a mid-table finish now would feel like failure to many fans. It's too late now but it would have been better for the club had somebody, and that really means Rupp or Sparks, dampened down promotion expectations a little earlier. It might have appeared defeatist to some but expressing the club's ambition as requiring 2 or 3 years to build a better quality squad or more realistically to bring in additional capital, might (with hindsight) have been a better strategy. It's too late for that now. It will most likely be interpreted at this stage as simply making excuses.

I mean i would love to give Lincoln a load of Credit but you could have put a NL team out there and they would have beat us.
I hope Lincoln go up but any lurking imps fans dont be getting giddy about beating a fellow promotion contender because we look like relegation fodder at best :(

I can’t disagree with any of that. But I would add that four particular players were integral to our early season success:
Sarcevic - now can’t stay fit and looks off the pace when he does play.
Bobby - now double marked and/or kicked out of most games, especially away. Been out injured and not back up to speed yet.
Neufville: Looks a pale shadow of the full back destroyer we saw in August and September.
Swan: Form dropped off. Injured just as he got back into the side and scored.

Those four were the source both of our creativity and goal scoring. With none of them consistently playing and firing on all cylinders we look clueless and toothless. The team we put out today offered precisely none of what those four were providing in the first ten games.

Got to be worth a formation switch at this point? We're conceding so many shots per game because we just cant get the ball out and invite pressure.

Is it worth going 4231 or 433 with Power sitting? So many defeats lately and the output is getting worse and worse. It has to be nearing if not the time to try something different to get some rhythm?

Lincoln didn’t have to get out of 2nd gear in the second half they didn’t need to . We could still be playing now and Lincoln players in the car park and we still wouldn’t be able to string 5 creative passes together and carve out a chance . There is the argument we have bounced and over achieved this year which I accept , but when we have no press in our game we look so basic on the ball like and no idea how to Create chances and launch it forward . Centre forward is a problem position but I would say midfield needs more creativity adding . Very disappointing performance tonight they have between now and Saturday to show the fans what the ambitions are for this season before the Neil Byrne masterclass on Saturday

That's a fair criticism. He would have been better having some kind of timeframe to his intentions and if properly explained, most fans would have probably gone along with it. But he didn't and in the absence of having a time frame, he should have expected fans to take him at his word and to do it sooner rather than later.

Sometimes it is their character, enabler, and advice that is whipped up into team glu that holds the team together. In my view it is up to the coaching staff to make sure they are valued, and held in high regard by the club and fans. Our team is literally falling apart.

We obviously need new, and better, players but its not just that - something has happened. Even at the start of January everything seemed in place, spirit was good, despite not playing particularly well we were still getting positive results - but in a short space of time we've fallen off the cliff. Noticeably, only Alexander has visible and audible - usually in a window we've had interviews from the recruitment team but nothing. All the feelgood at the club has evaporated so quickly, this doesn't just happen without reason.
If we dont see some explanation and response a lot of people are going to feel so let down. We all know we have punched above expectations but that should be a motivating aspect for all at the club - all reasonable fans have know we might fall away a bit but not fall off the abyss in a matter of days.
Rupp, Sparks, Sharp and Alexander - what the flip is going on?!

Another absolutely nothing interview from GA.

Talking up the opposition and ignoring our
complete inability to trouble either for 180 minutes.

Neither Hudds or Lincoln needed to get out of 2nd gear to easily keep us at arms length.

Of course we are missing Sarce and Swan but your negative tactics make those that replace them completely ineffective. Neither would make a massive difference if we can’t do the absolute basics right.

Its taken a monumental effort to get January as spectacularly wrong as we have. 4 utterly painful defeats and a squad thats weaker now than when the clocks went off for Auld Lang Syne. All this while being in a great but kinda false position in the table. Everyone knew the squad wasn't good enough but the signings smack of a lack of foresight from the manager, i knew we'd eventually drop down a few places but i didn't expect performances like away at Mansfield or Huddersfield or the icing on the cake of the spectacular shitshow we witnessed tonight.

We don’t want to hear about the team we don’t support. We want to hear about how YOU are going to fix the team WE support

Logically, i can only think there's a material difference in thinking between GA and the executive team, when it came to how to approach January. I.e., go for it, or cut costs.

Even if he had given a time frame (2 - 3 years or whatever) to not build upon the position we were in at the start of January seems like a big mistake - there are no guarantees that in 12 months, 24 months or 36 months we will be in that position again....
