Good half. We're clearly the better side, we've been good in most of what we've done. Bright, purposeful, in control for most of it. A couple of sloppy moments though - we need to get that 2nd and take the jeopardy out of the game.

Pointon nearly a one man midfield. We missing the Sassa Pattison combo along with Richards physical attacking down the left. We look out of kilter and hope it does not cost us

 

Halliday, Smallwood and Pointon have been the standout players so far.

Hope has been causing Shepherd some problems.

 

Isn't Leigh meant to be more of an attacking player though? Maybe he is just a bit rusty

 

He hasn't been that bad. Couple of good crosses.

 

Not getting the hate for Wright. Ok, he messed up near half-time with the sliced cross but aside from that, he's done nothing wrong. People are hating him for no reason this game

Only one gripe and that’s wright. He offers nothing

 

To me it feels like Sarcevic is playing out of position though so neither him or Leigh are playing that well. I'd rather have Sarcevic higher and playing as he has been recently and see how Leigh goes deeper.

 

Need to give Leigh time it's his first start.

He’s been ok for someone who’s not played much. The cross was poor but his general play has been ok. Richards is levels above though.

 

Couple of rusty performances by the lads that have come in, but they’re part of a team 1-0. They need game time, players don’t automatically play to their best when they come in it’s not a computer game.

Not a bad first half in all, good goal by Kav latched on and didn’t snatch at it. Could be a few more up with better decision making in the final third. If you want promotion these are the games you just have to get through with 3 points. Forget talk of goal difference, we hit the league leaders for 3. Even a 1 nil win tonight would be an average of plus 2 a game. A very good rate to go at.

Wright has put one good cross in but been bang average at best otherwise and mis controlled the ball several times.

 

I agree with you, but would rather take Leigh off to make that change. Give Khela that role?

 

Think we are that used to Richards bombing down the left that the reluctance of Wright to do that is frustrating.

Started decent. Fizzled out but still ahead and that's what counts. Comfortably the better team though that's not saying much, Morecambe are so, so poor.
