I imagine this won’t be a popular opinion but with the heavy load of games in the coming weeks, including a long and tough away trip at the weekend I would rotate the squad a bit.

This should be an easy win (on paper!) so I would give a couple of players a break. Given Pattison played the full 90 minutes on Saturday I’d switch him out for Lapslie. I’d also consider resting Pointon who looked a bit leggy and give Khela a start and Richards for Wright as a Richards is now an essential player who we can’t afford to lose.

I agree. I think we should start out with an unchanged side from the team named for Walsall, but think about making subs a bit earlier than is the norm for Alexander.

 

An early goal for us is important, otherwise they’ll just keep 10 men behind the ball for 90 minutes.

When thinking about the team GA will pick, I can’t see him dropping anyone, but with Wimbledon on Saturday being the tougher game on paper, maybe he should rest some legs?

 

I think he should only rest one of the starting line up if they have a knock or illness. I think he should make more use of subs in the second half, at an earlier stage than normal for Alexander, if we are ahead. Johnson, Lapslie, Leigh and Khela all looked good off the bench when they came on against Walsall.

 

We should go into the game with our strongest team and give 110%. Nothing more, nothing less. While we know it will be a tough game if we have any desire to get out of this division we cannot pick and choose which games we sit back on.
Ruthless intent is what we need between now and the end of the season.

 

"Nothing more" ?? If they can give 110% then why not 120% ?! But in all seriousness I completely agree with the sentiment of everything you say

 

I really do worry for the future of the club, for a few years they've been looking like a club on the edge and if they go down I struggle to see how they get back unless Adams can pull of another miracle with them as they won't be anywhere near the biggest spenders even in the National League.
