Yeah he was dominant tonight and though he only had one real save to make it looked very good.

Yes, this one. I saw the reply and Pattison was past the player but also kinda playing for the foul rather than trying to control the ball. On reflection, I don't think many referees would give that and actually, overall, the referee was decent tonight

 

Don't beat yourself up over it, just enjoy.

 

Don't question why Mellon is not getting a run you'll get told he's not match fit, and he wont get match fit sat on the bench.

 

Yes I expected more cards from Mr Toner.

 

Naturally, you make observations on new players. Seeing as Mellon, Khela an Lapsile are glued to the bench, here's my take on Leigh

The Pros :
● Good awareness. Knows how's to bring others into play
● Looks comfortable on the ball an is more of a technical player
● Had somewhat decent chemistry with Sarcavic

Cons :
● Isn't a striker
● Isn't the quickest
● Can't press like Kav
● Not entirely sure if our style of football will suit him

Well done tonight.
Looked a bit jaded but also created enough to be 2 up at half time then with a bit more composure we could have had 2 more in the second.
Morecambe had their 1 serious attempt really well saved by Walker.
Apart from that it was comfortable.
Any of the back 3 or Walker were my motm.

 

We started well. Dominated Morecambe, pushed them back into their half. Used the entirety of the pitch. Some decent crosses into the box from Halliday an Wright. In terms of the latter, He did wear out in the second half, probably down to a lack of match fitness, an doesn't take his man on often, but that's probably down to confidence. doesn't help when the majority of the fan base calls you shit

Kav played well. Linked up play with the forward line, took his goal well. Defence seemed solid. Walker made an outstanding save.

I didnt like the fact we took our foot off the gas. As others pointed out, in years gone by, that had a draw written all over it. We were sleepwalking into it. But we held onto the points, that's what matters. Hopefully a few days rest can get us back upto speed for Wimbledon, because that's gonna be a real difficult game.

We finally get Patto and Sarc fit and revel in their efficiency, then bring in what looks like a luxury midfielder. Not convinced. Not all bad though. Couple of sharp passes, decent effort that flew wide, has a little bit of pace.

 

I just think we'd more suited getting minutes into legs in other positions.

All of halliday, Johnson, wright and Richards are "match ready", the triumvate of lapslie, khela and Mellon will be nowhere near and it will show even if just getting ten mins here and there

Scrappy win but that's all it was ever going to be against a quite poor looking team.

Thought the hundred or so Morecambe fans did their club proud in the second half with their support but can't see anything but relegation to NL for them.

Anyone see what happened when their player went down in the second half MR side like he had been snipered. Got up. Went back down. Got up went back down then got up. PMSL.

 

Well that second half can get in the bin. Absolutely no need what's so ever to have been sat so bloody deep.

Too many players that were slow. Slow for second balls..

Not a lot to say apart from a welcome 3 points plus Shepherd really impresses me the more he plays. Loves a challenge and commanding in the air.

 

I like Shepherd but I thought he struggled today up against Hope and then Dackers.

 

I kinda enjoyed that, not wanting to go all Shoatsy. Credit Morecambe, they tried to get the ball down and play it around, something I didn't think an Adams side could do. Just nothing upfront. For us I thought Sercevic was out best player and Kavanagh put a shift in which it seems is what Alexander is asking the lone striker to do. Thought Leigh was in and out the game but did link up play at times but no one really stood out as good or bad. Good result on to the next victim
