A fan who had passed recently, I believe he'd been a City fan for 50 years plus.

 

A life long city fan died aged 65.

 

I know Kev. I found it quite emotional even though I didn't know the guy. I'm talking about Lee Angol being sent off for Morecambe.

 

That's problem with websites like this that the ratings are based 100% on stats so all of the hard work and pressing doesn't count for anything with them. The opposite happens quite often that a striker can have an awful game but then get a goal in the last minute and gets rating of 7.5 or higher.
Looking at his stats from today he had 1 shot which was blocked and only won 13% of his aerial duels, the assist probably stops him getting a 5.something rating but there is a lot of good he did today that you can't record in stats and it doesn't take into context he was against a taller CB and often he wasn't trying to win the header as he knew he couldn't so he was just putting off the defender.

On Kavanagh, a few of us noticed today that he does a bit of the dark arts well without being noticed. Today was the 2nd time he's been thrown to the floor so he must be saying something to the defender to wind them up then later on when he was losing a header after he fouled the defender he was fell in front of him and as he was falling grabbed onto the defenders balls, clearly trying to wind him up to get a 2nd yellow.

 

Whopper of the day, bloke behind us in the kop shouting random crap out. At one point 'chase it Kavanagh ya lazy b@stard'. Lad ran himself ragged today, heck of a shift from the young lad.

 

Similar to last week with a lot of results going our way at half time, I really thought Port Vale were going to go into a meltdown after they lost to us and failed to win their next 2 but they seem to have turned it around after a good win at Doncaster, they've just had a man sent off so a big test for them.

 

He was chirping all day at the CBs and the keeper. If the keeper had the ball he was saying stuff to him the entire time the keeper had it in his hands. Same with the defenders.

To be fair, he should have been flagged for far more fouls today, especially in the second half. The amount of times he had no eyes on the ball and was trying to launch himself toward the players and leaving the shoulder in or an elbow, rather than wanting the ball was getting daft. Ref let him get away with a load of those.

 

And the penalty was saved in the 65th min .RIP Danny

 

There really are some clueless fans, at every club I dare say.

Kavanagh is a right grafter and never gives central defenders a minutes peace.

Very impressed how we have adapted our style since Andy Cook was injured.

 

Like all players Kavanagh has his faults but one of them certainly isn't his workrate, I'd be very surprised if his distance covered and sprints are not ranked some of the highest of the strikers in the league

I’ve hammered Smallwood plenty of times but for me he was outstanding today and my MOTM.

 

Not been funny and this may upset the cookites but I think we play better without him
The setup is much more creative and more energy up top
Maybe a blessing he got injured as GA would never had dropped him to try a change
Cook scores goals if at his feet but his all round game is a bit static.

 

Was very strange, at one point shouted at their 21 to go home and do his missus washing. A definite kop mutant

It shouldn’t upset anyone because on some occasions with Cookie you are right. We can say that about most L1/2 players . It’s not a slight on him because he provides benefits elsewhere too .
