Hard role to play in team that creates bugger all. I thought he showed some nice touches, reminded me of Jake Beasley who's now at Blackpool. Not sure any striker could go to Carlisle and do well. Greg Abbott has a lot to answer for up there.

Some half time scores from around the division
    • Stanley 0-2 Notts County
    • Wimbledon 0-0 Tranmere
    • Grimsby 1-1 Chesterfield
    • Morecambe 0-0 Crewe
    • Port Vale 1-2 Newport
    • Salford 0-2 Fleetwood
    • Walsall 1-1 MK Dons
A lot of good scores for us at the moment with only Notts County winning out of the top half teams, Port Vale are really collapsing and Darren Moore must be beginning to worry for his job. As things stand we are in 7th, 3 points off 2nd and 2 points off 3rd.

I felt a bit for the Kavanagh as most players ran to Pattison when the goal was scored now don't get me wrong A, it was a sublime ball from Smallwood to Pattison and B, a great inviting cross only possibly Cook would have gone to head it but credit to Kavanagh for getting the better of his marker and scoring.

Not for me Dave, it’s a poor set up. The lone man up front with 5 midfielders won’t work if they don’t move forward en mass.

Surprised no Armstrong for them. I thought his replacement Hugill was ineffective apart from that one good shot.

Presume Armstrong on his way out, a swap for Jamie Walker perhaps, who also didn't feature today

It’s awful stuff this “plan” ;). How much money have the Cumbrians spent in the last two seasons to drop like a stone and remain in free fall playing like that?

Although they had a lot of possession they never looked that dangerous going forward, I've been ultra critical of
Mike Williamson during his time at MK Dons but I honestly believe he will turn it around, so much so I've had a bet with @Rogered Tart@Rogered Tart and as a Yorkshireman I don't like parting with brass even though if I lose a donation to the BBU is always welcome ;).

That was one of the rumours doing the rounds before the Jan window.

Yep. These are now his players. Most L2 pundits wondered how on earth Williamson was going to get a tune out of a squad that was the opposite end of his philosophy, i.e. Luke Armstrong is now nowhere to be seen.

8 wins out of 21 matches isn't that much of an ask, in a division that is close in ability in the second half of the table.

    Seriously ?

I thought they were absolutely gash Dave. Tippy tappy stuff when 1-0 down with 5 minutes to go eventually passing it back to the centre backs to lump it over the heads of midfield to a lone man up front against three hairy arsed centre backs just won’t work. I can’t think how Man U would see him develop at a club 92/92? . Their only danger was the pacey lad on their right , who had one shot well saved. I don’t rember him crossing the ball once the whole game ?

I admire the investment put in, I wish our owner would do the same. They suffer from having charlatans in positions they should never be in, getting promoted when never really being in a position to consolidate. Sometimes teams can be lucky and that was Carlisle in a nutshell when they went up.

Show me an example where a team pretty much going down has virtually rebuilt a side in January and stayed up. What they are doing right now isn't to any plan, it's sheer panic, a last desperate throw of the dice.

Armstrong is one of the worst signings they could have made. Harrogate was his level, hope they wore a mask when they robbed Carlisle
