Great win, it was a bit of a slog but Patto could have made things a bit easier first half with that miss! Kav absolutely loved that goal, even at full time he had a smile from ear to ear. Great save by Walker, best moment of the season for him imo. Richards is becoming a bit good isn’t he.

Ahh haha yeah let's hope Dezza drops a clanger.

Can't see them playing daftball like Carlisle though, but they're still dirt poor.

Good win. No daft errors. No panicking. Just the type of away performance that gets you promoted.

Don't get the criticism about not making subs - we controlled the game from the minute we scored. If GA had brought on three of the new players, he'd have been accused of just wanting to get his new players on. In addition, Leigh can play up front and so no surprise he replace Kav.

The bloke can''t win sometimes. However 60 points from his past 22 league games suggest he can.

However, I'm not getting carried away with this win. All three away wins have been against teams that like to knock it around ((with two having Williamson as the opposing manager). Wimbledon, Newport and Bromley - will show us what we're made of!!

Agreed. Smallwood does this all the time and rarely gets praised. Whilst rightly getting condemned for his iffy set pieces, it would be nice if he was a bit more appreciated.

Likewise Baldwin, who made another great saving tackle.

Just got the Walsall/MK Dons game on to see how Cowley performs, lets hope it doesn't take him 25 minutes to get into the game like it did against us at Notts County.

Because several players were clearly knackered and tired players make mistakes. Sarcevic was off the pace all game and on a yellow. He should have been subbed when we had allegedly decent replacements on the bench

Yeah agree, Baldwin had a very good game. Thought Halliday wasn’t as sharp as recent form, especially first half, so gives his performance even more credit.

You perhaps forget that we have a decent defence, that probably had it's best day of the season - we frequently prevented them getting behind us. It wasn't necessarily their final ball that failed them. It was our defending. And of course Walker.

It went as I thought. They through everything at us with enthusiasm and skill in the first 30 minutes. Then were knackered - no surprise if you make a load your team with debut's from a January transfer window.

It's also fair to say that they'd be 'up' for this match, given the crowd etc - so we'll see.

60 points from his past 22 games would indeed be a remarkable return .... if it were true of course! ;)

Or maybe you haven't included any games lost in your analysis?

The new players might be more "knackered", i.e. not up to the fitness standard GA wants.

We saw for the last hour, what happens when a very fit team plays a team with a load of newcomers and whilst I don't disagree that Sarcevic could have been subbed - I don't see it warrants the level of criticism GA got. After all, we were hardly holding on.

I agree. Shepherd didn't make a single error - he was superb, even better than he was against Grimsby. He's now impossible to drop, when earlier in the season when he was playing against that tough Wimbledon team - he looked a bit lightweight.

Pattinson did make an error. Great game from him, but he should have taken that chance.

I agree at times (and I've been guilty) he gets stick for what I believe many think he should be more positive in the middle of the park, I don't understand why Alexander persists with him taking corner kicks from the left plus the majority of free kicks he's so frustrating at times when he can't clear the first defender.

I still think that if we can be ahead of two out of Doncaster, MK Dons and Port Vale, we'll be in the Top 3. I expect those three to get more consistent results as the season goes on. That's because they've strengthened or will, in this window. Only doubt is Vale, who have, for me, the weakest manager out of any of the top half.

Unconvinced that Walsall can keep up this form for the rest of the season.

Good to see a bit of shithousery from us today, don't mind if it's not too much..
We see teams at VP often do it for 90+ mins sometimes...

If the newcomers aren't fit enough for 15 mins at the end of a match should they even be on the bench? We aren't talking about squad fillers here. The likes of Lapslie, Leigh and Mellon have come to play. Anyway, all well that ends well. I just think GA could have managed his players better in the last 15-20.

You could be a spin doctor for the Labour Party. Our defence had one of easiest days of the season, I'll chuck some stats at you, worst points in the division by a mile, worst goal difference, 19.goals scored in 25 games second only to Tranmere with 18. Not to take anything away from us, we did what we had to do. But they are the worst football team in the 92 in the football league and today was no exception. Tippy happy football out from your keeper earns you nothing, especially in league 2. They're as bad as Sutton and Forest Green were last season.
