Get the new lads on. We need someone to take control of the midfield. Defence are just pinging pointless diagonal balls because no one wants it in midfield. Pointon getting owned. Smallwood lazy. Sarce off the pace. Sooner or later, Jones and the Man U loan lad are going to break and score. We need to be much more urgent out of possession.

 

The commentary I have is from Radio Leeds with Gary Jones co-commentating as usual talking a lot of sense, for some reason we cant string 2-3 passes together, I'd like to see Alexander bring the lad Mellon on no aerial threat up top.

Sarce off for Leigh would be my change. More legs up top to press, their midfield look like they have far more time on the ball than ours. Their new additions seem to be playing with little fear and have that bit more pace than us, we look a little rigid.

 

I was thinking the same as well, it's not too dissimilar to our home game against MK last season where they had all of the possession but very few chances, the only difference is we took all of our chances that night and today we've not.

 

As good a defender as Halliday is, he offers nothing in attack. Benn might not be the finished article but his attacking runs put the opposition on the back foot. Halliday lacks technical ability but is solid defensively.

 

Yep! I wrote elsewhere that I was more confident of beating Walsall than Carlisle.

They've simply got a new and better team and so inevitably started with lots of endeavour and enthusiasm and as they have some skilled players - no surprise they've looked like one of the better L2 teams.

But for once, we've not caved in and have had two great opportunities. And for he last 15 minutes we were at least matching them.

People write off this league because there is no-one as good as last seasons Top 3, but there is also nobody as bad as last seasons bottom three or four. Making all matches (look at how Crewe struggled at Swindon) competitive.

 

Good atmosphere in ring obells for the game. On the pitch, back to normal. We are the ultimate ‘edging’ club. We get within points of the top 7 then perform like crap

 

I think Johnson is better than both and expect him to play a significant role in this second half of the season. Provided he stays fit of course!!

Halliday, Sarcevic and Pointon have been below par, but all can get better.
