Im quite happy to be in a battle for the playoffs.

 

I’m sure I read that GA doesn’t announce the team until just before they get changed. I guess he was told shortly before he was spotted that he wasn’t playing.

 

A draw would flattered us although I'd have obviously taken it with both hands. We huffed and puffed and with a bit more quality could have nicked a point, but they would have been kicking themselves. Their one touch passing around our press was superb at times and in the 1st half we couldn't live with them. The lads deserve great credit for hanging in there and making a game of it. In real time, I thought it was a pen on Sarc, but having seen it a few times, although I have seen them given, I dont think it was.
No need for doom and gloom. We've played and lost to the Champions today. Win at the kennels next week and today will be forgotten!

 

I really hope so as we looked pretty poor up top today. Hopefully that has hastened some signings as we need a striker soon. Humps was off it today as well as Swann.

the two new lads hooked up really well down the right. Some good passing and forward movements alongside finding space on the edge of the box.

Lots to be positive about I think. We were on top for most of the second half. Keep the faith.

GA has said cook didntbplay because he knew he was going in Jan, Kav playing had nothing to do with Cook

 

Could you imagine if we signed a striker with this record on a 3 year deal in the summer, it would have been quite the meltdown. It's another example of Ritchie Wellens getting the best out of a striker

 

He was a country mile better than our other anonymous LWB that got oiked.

 

Saving grace for Grant might be that they are in the last eight of the Vertu trophy and have a good a chance as any of the others at getting to the final.

 

I don’t think a draw would have flattered an awful miss and a definite penalty was the difference. They had a twenty minute period first half where they played us off the park the rest of the match we were at least as good. Plenty of positives today. All three new players looked decent disappointed In Humphrey’s who didn’t look bothered when he came on

 

I said at half time , I watched this ref recently in another L1 game , over fussy yet the big decisions…he was scared to make .

 

I thought Power was playing within himself today, probably because he’s one booking away from a ban,

From the replay I feel a good shout for obstruction but not a pen for me. All about opinions though and as I said earlier, I have seen them given. I would have been fuming if that was given against us though.

That was before the season and what we now know about this division. Automatic promotion is there for any team with the cojones to really want it, no standout teams in this division. We aren't a team just outside the playoffs wanting to gatecrash the party, win our game in hand at Lincoln and we go joint second. These sort of opportunities are as rare as rocking horse shit, no team around us is any better than us and I include Lincoln and Cardiff in that.

 

Can’t agree , he was poor from the kick off, our left side was absolutely awful in the first half and surprisingly that included Bobby who didn’t look match fit. Second half our left was miles better. Tyreik isn’t a L1 player sorry.
