It cost us the game unfortunately. Absolutely gilt edged chance in what would most likely have given us a point. Missed chances like that are the equivalent to conceding a goal for me.

 

I get what you are saying about Neufville, but he provided the two best bits of wing play all game: the jinking run into the box in the first-half and then fizzing a fantastic ball across the box that someone needed to get onto. In the second-half that run and pull back for Humphrys was perfect.

While the interplay between Humphrys, White and Ashby caused problems, they didn't look to have Josh's ability to make runs like that. I was a bit frustrated that they didn't make more of a couple of situations late on. I would definitely start Neufville against the doggies.

The one on them by Baldwin was completely different Baldwin turned to chase the ball. The Sarcevic one the defender goes the same way as Sarcevic and puts his arms up.

 

Agree about Tilt, an absolute rock and calmness personified. I suppose that it sends out the wrong sort of message if MOM is awarded to a defender..

 

It wouldn't be dramatic in February but we've got a couple of weeks left yet plus the new lads to bed in so I think it's time to take a step back and just give it time to see where we are in mid Feb.

If we're still not good enough then so be it but so far we've been given absolutely no reason to doubt either this team or the manager so for me they should be getting our full backing.

 

I’ve seen a replay of it. Sarce turned with the ball and the defender blatantly pushed him over. Should have been a penalty all day long.

No disgrace in losing to Cardiff. But a draw would have been a fair result on the overall balance of play. They had a brilliant 20 minute period when they persistently cut us apart with excellent one touch passing and scored two goals. Apart from that it was a pretty even game.

 

Thought Tilt and Baldwin played well today, Baldwin got a couple of last ditch blocks in.

 

Not for me. It'd even be very harsh to be awarded obstruction for that.

 

Take off those rose tomted glasses, we have a calamity keeper where shot on target equals a goal create plenty of chances but always make the wrong decisions, I cant see us winning another game in Jan.. mid table come May

 

Don't even go there, he's just come on for Grimsby, the Dogs getting beaten again please don't sack Grant until after next Saturday give him another game to get it right .

 

On the second half performance we are not far away from the title winners....who'd have quibbled over that in August.

That said opponents two goals to the good. It changes the game flow.

The positive in defeat....it affirms massively the need for investment up top.

Palace lad AND a substantial, permanent investment in a number 9. If that investment isn't forthcoming it's a sad reflection on the ownership and lack of backing in the work the team management are doing. AkA whats happened at Palace with Glasner. Achievement needs reward managerial wise in the shape of a far better replacement for what we are sorely lacking.
We have a relegated league 1 striker and a lad who's just better coming in from wide than leading the line. It will cost us an unimaginable finish to this season.

 

Ditto to that and whilst we are wishing for things, can the FA throw the Welch clubs out of the English football league

Well once again apart from Stockport the chasing pack cant make any impacted on the league one table/

I didn't think theirs was either when their lad ran into Baldwin. This one for me was pretty much the same as that.

 

Shows you what a difficult job refs have. I was screaming for a pen, had a clear view from my vantage point at that side of kop. Ive seen the replay and still think was a penalty.
