I would describe us as a bit of a “weird” side. Nothing would surprise me if we rocked up and beat you 3-0 on your own patch, or you spanked us 6-0, and anything in between.

We do play some nice football at times under Artell, but also have a tendency not to show up for the odd half or occasionally entire games. We also score some really good goals and concede really bad ones. Our GK, Wright, is a decent enough stopper but seems to have a mistake in him every game - as he did in the game against you at BP earlier in the season.

I fancy us slightly more if Cook indeed doesn’t play, as is expected, although we have injury problems of our own up front at present (the lesser spotted Rekeil Pyke starting up top in our last game for the first time this season). Expect Danny Rose to start for us today, mind.

As an aside, I think I speak for most Mariners if Cookie’s injury is a bad one (and even if it isn’t). Always liked him at Grimsby, and him scoring our first ever goal at the new Wembley on the same day I learned my missus was pregnant with our first born will stay with me forever.

 

With Walsall's game against Cheltenham postponed today, a win could see us leap to just 14 points behind them.

 

Christ, just the ever useless Vadaine Oliver on the bench as a striker option. No Sanderson is an odd one unless he's been ruled out and i missed it after playing so long last week. I thought he'd be at least on the bench.

Talking of the bench looks like Jay Benn has been given a rest with Johnson(who) brought back,
No-one is saying it but is Benn also on the list of loanees to be sent back?

 

Why is this an early one? I’m bloody livid. Mrs going out, I’m dropping her off then charging back to watch the game at 15:00 (17:00 my time). Now I see it’s a bloody early one and my plans and evening is ruined!!

 

Could be or has the penny dropped and GA has given up on him entirely , like Walker he’s been going through the motions imho?

We can blame Kavanagh, Oliver, Sanderson all we want. None of them are Messi. If the manager doesn't set the team up with the tactics and formation to create chances for them, they will never score.

I think many of us are fearing the worst with Cookie, I can’t see how we replace his goals which some may say means the end of our campaign . Hope I’m wrong .
