Terrific goal from Metcalfe. Humphrys unlucky with a goal bound shot cleared off the line and hitting the post.

I said after 5 minutes he looked a bit wobbly on his right foot but he definitely covered some ground after that early wobble.

I also think he relishes the physical stuff as well.

Kelly too who I thought was decent again as he has been recently.

He's not afraid to defend properly. It's just his distribution that let's him down.

 

Job done. Quality strike from Jenson ‘I don’t know what you see in him’ Metcalfe and another MOM display to boot. Tilt close behind who I thought was fantastic on his return.

 

Distribution is non league, defending though is solid.

 

2025 what a year savour that for a day or two

 

Crying out for a forward. Humphs was great but via pulling into the channels. We had Ty in the centre to receive the inevitable cross. Not ideal.

That might also create cover for Bobby and Sacre, with Humph dropping into that role easily.

The fluency and intensity of press has gone, woth possession stats back into city's favour in recent games. A different kind of style (drab possibly and pragmatic certainly), but the points keep ticking on.

Just a slight feel that this stule could easily see us fall into a losing streak. New singings an renewed impetus from them we can hope come January.

Absolutely loving metcalfe learning and being alongside a power. A real northwest pairing in the making.

not going to sugar coat it though, it was a poor watch. A better opposition would have taken advantage. Big January ahead

 

Piss poor from us all match. But I'm not surprised Alexander's decisions have pathetic at best too.

 

That was a hard watch only lifted by a lovely goal from Metcalfe.
How Stockley stayed on the pitch I will never know. What a thug. 3 points though.

 

People keep saying this, but we constantly find a way to win. Its not pretty half the time, but who cares

 

Yet another win, and yet another go at GA. I think its now the most home wins in a calendar year and you are still not happy.

Stick to watching Premiership on tv mate.

I agree pal its been poor for 12 months i mean despite him getting us up and despite us standing 3rd what has GA really done for us

 

Not great tonight but lets be right it aint been great for a long while ..............but we stand 3rd and with a decent window you just never know

 

I’ve been saying this for ages.
Where are these teams that are so much better than us and will punish every mistake we make.
We are 1 game short of halfway and we are 1 point off 2nd with a game in hand.

Admittedly,Mansfield (won at Bolton tonight) and Blackpool (scoring a few goals recently) will be 2 very tough games.

Get something from those 2 games and we are well set for the rest of a very tough January.

 

Welcome three points but that was a diabolical game of football. We're really limited by having only one CB in the squad who can pass a ball and without him there is just no build up play whatsoever.

Metcalfe excellent again and Tilt was very good on his return.
