I thought we were poor today ,bar a 20 minute spell
We found a way to win ,which was great.
This division is crazy ,only three points off second place
Results go our way,we could be sitting in that place next weekend
Officials were dreadful

 

First half was a shambles. No shots on target until Bobby came on and stuck it in.

better in second half and could have bagged a few more on another day.

good spirited comeback and result, lads, good stuff

 

Got away with it big time i simply do not understand managers at our level who think we have a good enough squad to rotate.
Plenty out there who should be getting a rest before Bobby ...............i would even give Cook a rest before hes flogged to death but we simply cant because our nobhead recrutment team thought they know better

I've no idea mate stopped trying to second guess Alexander.

 

Probably play him at left wing back.

Everybody else has had a go there.

 

Fair point , Pattison Mom for me closely followed by Sarcevic and Pointon . Worst player on show award , by a country mile ……Wright… Why the hell was he selected? Not fit, disinterested and when he got the ball he couldn’t pass or fell over it. Truly awful, lazy signing.

 

Very lethargic first half. If Chesterfield had have had Madden, Grigg and Colclough available, we would have been 3 or 4 behind at half time.

Credit to our lads for the second half performance though, much more like it with the pressing and getting the crowd behind them.

Antoni Sarcevic was immense in that second half and showed what a good player he is at last for us, and deserved the man of the match award.

Fair play to GA for acknowledging his mistake with the starting X1 and bringing on Pointon and switching Halliday to his best position on the right.

GA's substitutions were spot on today.

Chesterfield were very impressive in the first half especially Dilan Markanday is such a tricky little player.

Be interesting to see where GA is going to play George Lapslie once he sign as I really like the Pattison/Sarcevic combination and you just cannot leave out Pointon.

Hopefully Richards is back on Wednesday or Saturday after illness as he was sorely missed today.

And yet, near the end, they were letting the ref know that he wasn't fit to referee! Oh the irony.
The lino on the Midland Rd side appeared to be watching a totally different game.

 

Just about to say the same….Investment in decent players on top wages it appears. Cook is a lucky man to have those riches

 

We definitely rode our luck in the first half with 3 good chances for them with a combination of bad finishing, the post and last ditch defending stopping them. Ultimately we had 2 chances and took them both.

Thought we looked a lot more solid and in control even though they had more possession than the first half, defensively we looked much better. I thought Kelly had a really good game particularly in the 2nd half stepping up on their player and covering the LWB.

Great to keep the home form going but we've got to start backing it up with wins away from home.

 

Yes , signing for Chesterfield, name escapes me , but Jones and Rayner mentioned him and his father sat close by ..M*******?

 

Good win but it's arguable whether or not we deserved it against Chesterfields reserve side (14 first team squad out injured - they're in a major crisis and played with their 4th choice attacker today).

Generally speaking our home form is excellent, long may that continue.

It is our away form which is our achilles heel this season, only 2 wins from 11 league away matches. We won't make the play offs unless that improves, regardless how well we do at home.

 

No need for a pile on, Inposted the same about 15 mins from the start of the game how awful he looked.

Great result an iffy first half performance and should have been 3 against us at the break. Second half much better.

A special mention to the lino on MR side who missed the absolute clear as day shirt pull yet gave loads of small niggly shirt holding after that. You are special but not as special as the ref who had both sets of fans bemused with some of his decisions.In part he spoilt the game with too many fouls when in fact most weren't. You wonder what they see sometimes.

Getting really congested in the league now.

Hope the January transfer window addresses LWB issue.

Agree the ref and the younger linesman were appalling. A card happy fool that seemed to get the simple stuff wrong. I got the distinct impression he was trying to prove he wasn’t a Homer. Added to the fact their players were in his ear every two mins trying to get our lads booked….zVery very weak.

 

I can’t believe they have two teams like the one we saw today. I think Paul Cook is having a laugh and trying to make us believe his injury crisis affects his team. I thought Chesterfield was the best team we have seen here. I like the new battling City and it is great to see.

 

Markanaday was excellent today and is on loan from Blackburn. Why can't we get talent like that on loan
