We've amassed 40 points from 34 games. In August we managed to get to 10 points from 5 games. Since the beginning of September we've managed to accrue 30 points from 29 games. That's an average of 1.03 points per game.

There are 12 league games left so based on form since the beginning of September we would manage to gain an extra 12 points taking us to a total of 52 points for the season. That would have been enough to survive in the last 10 full league two seasons.

Having said that, the players look dreadfully unfit, the injury list is long, our captain and starting centre half was sold and confidence is shot. The new management team are going to have take some time to establish our most effective formation and style from what they have available. I struggle to see where these 12 points will come from.

I think we're in a relegation battle and although the uplift in 'on the pitch' energy is great, we really need to cut out the errors that are throwing points away or we may find ourselves in a lot of trouble.

 

Agree 100%. In the last 10 games we've taken 8 pts so on that basis we'd get 9 or 10 pts from the last 12 which would just about keep us up. All thanks to Deluded Derek!

Scunthorpe look gone and Leyton Orient haven't won since 7 December.

Our goal difference is probably worth a point too.

Oldham, Carlisle and Barrow are all picking up the requisite number of points to catch us based on their current form, and assuming we keep losing.

Make no bones about it, our survival in the EFL is not yet secured.

Honestly, these defenders are that bad I'd be shocked if we kept a clean sheet any time soon.

Needless to say, we're going to need to start scoring....

I agree or at least into midfield as part of a 433 with two holding midfielders as this defence needs all the protection it can get.

We know Kelleher is poor, but he’s still a CB by trade he has to play over Songo’o there imo regardless. Hopefully from next season we’ll finally see players in their natural positions, something we’ve not done for years.

 

I'd like to see him as a midfielder, which is where we actually signed him to play. A midfield of watt and sutton will lose you game after game and we have something like two seasons worth of evidence on that now.

 

I would put ROD and Canavan back in, but the experts at the club know a lot better and so we're on to conceding 2 or 3 goals a game instead of just 1.

 

Wouldn't be surprised to see ROD & Evans start on Saturday. When you're struggling, you can do worse than go for experience.
