City is a last port of call for injury prone, unwanted players.

66 minutes of football in the last 21 months? This is the most Bradford City signing ever. I hope he is been paid on pay as you play because he cant be anywhere near match fit yet.

Wondet how long until the Halliday missed a season before signing for us is wheeled out. Or the fact Evans is younger than when Gary Jones signed....

Well after reading comments from Sunderland fans Jordan, they recon that we've got a superb signing who will be a stand out player in League 2.
For me, age isn't really a problem if they perform on the pitch, so let's wait and see how Huntington and Evans do.

Every set of fans think their ex player will do a decent job lower down the leagues unless they are a kangaroo.

This is why we are behind and go backwards. Not signing better than what we have and accepting sh&te.

The signings are poor and desperate.

To be fair, Hull fans said the same about Smallwood. Age isn't a problem with me either, it's the fitness and sharpness of the players and if they can get up to speed enough to make any contribution in their short term contracts.

A pro having ACL surgery and a comeback in their early to mid 20s is very recoverable these days..... having it at 33, and also a complication that delayed his Sunderland comeback, might not go well for the lad. Even when he was fit at Sunderland before the injury, he finished 11 of his 22 league starts. Usually DMs, and he was the captain in a lot of starts too, they finish games, so it's weird they were taking him out even as captain in games, unless he wasn't too fit?

My favourite is "lets see how they do on the pitch before judging". That line has never been said about anyone who'd expected to actually be good. If we'd have pulled off for arguments sake a Dan Kemp, Aden Flint, Paul Mullin type, anyone basically who'd come in and expected to do really well at this level, you'd never ever see a single "yeah but lets give him a chance" type comment.

The key issue for me when recruiting older players who have only recovered fairly recently from a serious injury is whether they can remain uninjured in a competitive sport. It's a bit of a gamble and we don't have a great track record in the recuperation of players with a history of past injuries. It smacks a bit of either desperation or a failure to consider the risks of going into the season with some potential gaps in the squad

And the best part is that they nearly always live up to the very low expectations which was entirely predictable from the start.

From someone who played alongside him, “he’s technically very good but can’t run” He also mentioned he was injured quite a lot. If we can get 3 good months from him, then brilliant but chances are we’ll be managing him and he’ll be a bit part player.

Given the age of the new arrivals, coupled with the 8 pm KO, will it be Ovaltine or Horlicks at HT ?

So they might get a few run outs before it’s time to leave? Inspired signings City. Inspired.

Stockport have spent money like water for the last three or four seasons. Stotts company is worth about half a billion. So no we won’t compete with that type of limitless funding hes ploughing in, in that you are right.

Limitless funding and spending at lower levels is paramount to cheating.

Arsenal, Man City, in fact the entire Premier League get away with it. Both my local EA sides, Norwich and Ipswich …I don’t have to look far .

In my opinion no matter which level you look at, there should be a cap on how much money can be spent on the playing squad.
PL might be 1 billion , league 2 might be 5 million for eg. But what that does is it stops the likes of Wrexham paying players from higher leagues extortionate wages to come in and create an unfair competition in their league.
It’s like 3 runners in a 100metre race allowed to take drugs to gain an advantage whilst the others cannot and therefore can’t compete in a fair way.

I’m fine with clubs spending millions on the infrastructure / training facilities / back room staff to create an environment that tempts players to join you rather than how much you can afford to pay them.
