He's already at the club training so would come as no surprise. I'll be honest I don't think he can be any worse than the ones we already have, it's been a weak link in our team for years now, probably back to Lewis O'Brien since we had a decent central midfielder

Do you have any evidence they didn't? Or are you just assuming they didn't?

 

That could be it. My question was ironic. He wouldn’t accept our offer and got offered more in lg1. So why did we not recognise is worth to us? He is not a star, but he is a good solid midfield player. Never lets you down and is hardly ever injured. It would have been easy to award the mom yesterday to the strikers, but no they looked at the work rate and his availability to his team mates and awarded Gilly MOM.

We just sign dross. I’ve seen that the young lad Jesse Debra who was at Halifax and who we were heavily linked to is having a good start to the season with Port Vale. He’s 23 and will either go up with them or probably make them a tidy profit. We NEVER seem to get these type of players. We are constantly just fire fighting trying to fill holes in a panic. Why can other clubs get it right yet we are signing 37 year old Paul Huntington in October.

 

Many people on here said the signing of Sam Walker was a tin pot signing . Joke of a club getting rid of Harry Lewis was a regular comment. To me these out of contract signings are just emergency signings due to an unprecedented injury crisis and we can only sign out of work players until January. They may turn out to be similar to Jim O’Brien who was good but we wouldn’t sign permanently and he gave good service to Notts county or I agree they could be like Karl Henry who was finished but we have to do something due to injuries.

 

Maybe they don’t want to join us. Let’s face it, the scrutiny from our supporters is probably higher than most in the league. In fact most signings are written off before the ink on the contract has dried. As a young player coming up from non league, I don’t think we’re the right club as a first step up. Id say as a club our support can be pretty toxic and although we turn out in numbers, it doesn’t take long for the boos to pour down the stands.

 

Are you really trying to say it's the fans fault, we have fallen from a hairs breadth away from the championship to 6 soon to become 7 years in the khazi league and that players won't sign because of the fans

Not at all. My point was that young up and coming players may think twice because of the pressure they’ll be under to hit the ground running. If you don’t think some of our supporters are short on patience, then I don’t know what to say. We already have people talking about changing the manager even after knowing that chopping and changing has got us nowhere. The longer we stay down here the greater the pressure becomes.

We've been in league 2 for 6 years. If you think fans patience should still be steadfast then I don't know what to say.
