Its been a strange saga that's finally come to an end, that end being Bradford get a transfer fee for a player they hardly used and Young gets to do something Bradford have done for 6 seasons and that's play football at a higher level. In a way both parties have benefitted.

My bet doesn't have to be money either. If we finish top 3 I'll ask admin to ban my account and not post for 3 months. If we don't finish top 3 you can do the same and give everyone a rest.

You won't do either of course but it's a moral victory to see that even you don't actually believe your own nonsense.

 

Given that GA has previously spoken about Young being like a new signing etc, my own view is that that Alexander wanted to keep Young, shift one of Oliver/Smith, realised there were no takers for either and Young was the one who had to wake way given he was our only saleable asset.

Shame really. With the CB’s doing okay so far and further strengthening in that department yesterday, It does feel like we are one decent striker away from having a promotion winning squad. Instead we’re relying on Cook staying fit for the full season and banging in 25+ goals.Tough ask.

 

I can’t see how there is an increase in budget this season, the squad looks unbalanced, and quite a few loanees-rather than our own signings.
Wouldn’t it be nice to see actual investment and sign a promising and/or quality younger player from elsewhere?

 

Seeing how you have banged on all summer about the quality/history of the players we have signed and how we have been cost cutting so therefore you must feel we will finish worse than last season. That can be the only conclusion you can come to with your narrative. Let’s do the bet on that

 

Think that is what we have tried to do by signing the likes of Young, Richards, Kavanagh and Wright.

 

The fact that on the live T&A article the focus was on a SIGNIFICANT sell on clause, I'm imagining we've accepted an extremely low offer.

If he then isn't sold on, we've lost him for a song and a prayer.

Welcome to L2 . That’s how all clubs operate . Can you show one that hasn’t got loanees to fill out a squad for cover? I bet you can’t .

Was the increase said to be on the footballing budget ? That could mean anything not just transfer / wages budget for players .
