Todays deadline has reflected on how finances have ruined football you have players in their prime moving to Saudi for nothing more than the money where’s the ‘sport’

like most fans we would love to play the game professionally in fact I’d bloody pay to run out for city in a competitive game but the finances have just taken over

on a smaller scale is Young likely to go to a Stevenage or another tin pot outfit low crowds small Lego stadiums it’s no longer about the Roy of the rovers stuff it’s more range rovers

I don't think many players would turn down a move to Stevenage in Young's position. On a football level he gets a move to league 1 where he can show was he can do at that level and he gets to move on from here where it hasn't worked out with a fresh start. On a personal level he is likely to get a bit of a pay rise and I would expect he'll sign a 3 year deal so he gets financial security for 3 years, he can't pay his bills with crowd levels so of course finances will play a big part just like it does for anyone in any job.

 

He's had years to prove otherwise.

 

Looks a simple equation to me. If Stevenage match the fee Fleetwood offered, he goes. If not be probably stays. Looks like he's said no to The Codsters.

No idea if this is just Simon Parker trying to keep people viewing the blog or a genuine chance of another incoming

 

Unless it was a young keeper on loan I would find it strange that we are trying to bring in a keeper now this late in the window. If Walker was to get injured for a while and Doyle was struggling then we can always bring in a free agent keeper at anytime and I'm sure there will be plenty of decent keepers available if needed.

 

The club probably felt, and rightly so, that it wasn’t politically right to sell him in January. Plus of course, GA wanted him back in the squad so that was that.
