Alexander made a comment in a previous interview that there's nobody in the squad that can do the job like Smallwood but there are players he sees that can play the no 6 role in a different way, in that he mentioned Pattison. In his post match interview yesterday he said Oduor played the no 6 role in the behind closed doors friendly in midweek and did well then mentioned about Adams saying he can see him playing as a striker or no 10, 8, 6 or as a wing back so I think that explains why we've brought him in and looking to offload Gilliead.

 

Wrexham and Lincoln want him. Cant see it. Plus another young striker? Surley the Young money should be invested in a striker who been there and done it a bit. Someone proven.

 

It looks like he's set to go to league 1 with Lincoln and Wrexham linked with a move, if they are then I can't see them allowing him to drop to league 2.

Nothing concrete at this end (Carlisle) about Young, although I think we've been linked with every bloody Bradford player in your squad. This is down to Greg Abbott (Head of Recruitment) having a Sat Nav that doesn't seem to work outside the Bradford area. Gileahad was the last one mentioned, however that seems to have gone quiet as well.

Absolutely it does Simon…….From a club playing perspective he’s been a complete non entity for whatever reason during his time at VP.

Started off reasonably well in honesty , then he went downhill maybe as a result of his bust up with MH, then the non trip to Spain, a loan where he did nothing and clearly didn’t impress as they didn’t seek his return even though MH made him available. Fair do’s his second loan went really well, but a return when he was rightly called back , even though injured…..
The rest is a saga of “will he won’t he” with nigh on no football played.
I’ve suggested it before , I think the lad has been badly advised….All this talk of “ interest” from L1 unless he was practically being asked for on the cheap ( My Speculation) has been “generated” imho. Proof is in the pudding ….Very very few seem to be interested with any conviction from other clubs whatsoever.

He does need to go, enough is enough for everyone’s sake…His, the club , fans etc.

 

Haha I've seen him mentioned a lot by your fans. A bit hard for a 50 year old like myself who remembers Abbo fondly and the fact he's a really nice fella. But I knew your recruitment wasn't up to much when you signed Armstrong, he's bang average league 2 at best. Told me a lot about where your backroom staff were, saying that our lot aren't upto much to be fair.
