    GK - Walker/Doyle/TBC
    RWB - Halliday/Johnson
    LWB - Wright/Richards
    CB - Shepherd/Kelly/Baldwin/Byrne
    DM - Smallwood
    CM - Pattison/Sarcevic
    AM - Pointon/Adams/Oduor
    ST - Cook/Oliver/Kavanagh/Sanderson/Smith

Think this is our squad after September 1st.

Stubbs, McDonald, Gilliead, Walker and Young all gone (Young could go on loan again)

He's still under contract and given our success rate of "getting rid" of contracted players, I'd expect to see him for a little while longer.

We've gone from not needing to many additions to adding eight possibly nine.
Did the Austrian trip tell Alexander something more than he already knew forcing a change of mind regarding the way our squad was going to shape up prior to now.

All income, commercial , etc etc etc goes towards club costs, which includes the playing budget.

Isn’t there an option in our favour to make it 4?

Not as far as I know. This is from the recent interview with GA regarding Young -https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/sport/sportlatest/24533397.bantams-boss-latest-jake-young-next-signing/

The most telling line is “The scenario is still the same. I feel he is a very good player who could help us win games.
But I’m not completely in charge of his thoughts. I think right now I have to take a step back and focus on players who are absolutely 100 per cent focused on winning games for Bradford.” I read that as GA is happy to keep young but will wait until the window is closed and he is more settled to make decisions on playing time etc.

Arguing with Hughes was a year ago so has been known for some time. I am not condoning it, but frustrations can boil over and Hughes should have handled it better.

Injuries happen, he cannot be held responsible for injuries, or lack of match fitness. That could have influenced them, who knows I certainly don’t, but then neither do you.

All of the above has been “known” and Wigan and Barnsley were still interested.

I have not heard one word from GA saying he is a lazy trainer nor would I expect a professional manager to say that publicly. On the contrary he has stated categorically that he wants him to stay in his latest press briefing.

I was talking to a few mates last weekend at the Rugby at Elland Road who are all Leeds fans but one of them is trying to get into scouting. As part of his talent ID course is helping out at Leeds academy doing some free work with the youth team to get hours in for the course. Anyways, he brought up Ombang and a few others they have from us, Ombang hasn't progressed well yet. Think he said they had him play once or twice in the U21s league last year and he didn't look good, he was going on loan to Farsley for this season he said to try get experience. Sounds like he's 3rd of 4th choice in the U21s team and sketchy if he'll get another shot.

Comparing your list to the EFL squad limit, we look to have 26 potential first team squad players on our books. Remove those who aren't included in the squad limit - 2 GKs and the two U21s, Pointon & Adams - and we're currently at the limit of 22. If as he's intimated, GA has his eye on another over 21 player, something is going to have to give. Either he's successful with transferring one of Young, Gilliead, Oliver or maybe Walker to another club to create the space or he'll have to make a tough call on who doesn't get registered and therefore can't be named in the matchday squad. No doubt GA will have made that point known to that little group and their agents!

From my count, we currently have 20 from that squad list that would need registering? All in bold. As you say, keepers are exempt and added the 5 who could move on to move it to 20. Four players under the 21 years date this season of Jan 1st 2003 in Pointon, Adams, Kav & Sanderson.

    GK - Walker/Doyle/TBC
    RWB - Halliday/Johnson
    LWB - Wright/Richards
    CB - Shepherd/Kelly/Baldwin/Byrne
    DM - Smallwood
    CM - Pattison/Sarcevic
    AM - Pointon/Adams/Oduor
    ST - Cook/Oliver/Kavanagh/Sanderson/Smith
Stubbs, McDonald, Gilliead, Walker and Young.

OK. It's not as bad as I first thought with Kav and Sanderson both being U21

Although it does kind of underline another worry people have brought up a few times this window, the front lines goal return outside of Cook, when we all know we need to add goals this season to challenge. Oliver, we know what we are getting from him at 33 soon. Smith another who's failed to impress, not just here but with a large chunk of his career so far. Kind of banking on Kav and Sanderson having breakout years. Fear what our return will be if Cook starts dropping off, he's turning 34 in October.

How many of them actually really make it, I mean really go far ? Delph is about the only one, Cleverley was never anything special and Wisdom spent his entire Liverpool career out on loan. McBurnie is a lump whose real level is no better than mid table Championship, Green had a breakdown at Everton. Even Dean Richards never made it to the very top, and he's probably the best of the lot. We aren't producing masses of talent that top clubs want, but we are being very cute with the way we get money for them.
