Yes what’s negative about that

 

We don't take advantage early enough at home and let teams feel their way into the match, far easier than we should let them. Last season, we went into the break leading in just 3 of the 23 home games, two of those were the last 2 home games.

We need to start taking advantage of the game far earlier at home and make things uncomfortable for teams. Most come here with the desire to sit back and take a point, us starting slowly and letting them get their plans in motion needs to stop.

 

I am taking a complete stab in the dark and possibly saying the hammers

 

They haven't had any young kids that have played in pre-season matches and scored as far as I can see.

 

We are stacked in that area already and have our own players that will struggle to get game time. Would be a bit of a daft one when there are other areas of the pitch that are in much more need of bolstering.

 

Lewis Orford scored two in the U21 friendly in Belgium, was on the bench for a couple of Europa games, but has never been on loan. Simon-Swyer was on loan at Crawley for the first half of last season

 

Entirely fair . We get an early lead and the opponent HAS to come out and not sit back . It’s as old as the hills and still rings true !

The Max Power one is interesting. Played a full season at championship level before going out to Saudi. Was also brought into Wigan twice by Sharpe during his time there. Not beyond the realms of possibility that sharpe has reached out to him again to bring him home…. If Tranmere are in for him, and can afford his wages, then no reason we can’t….not sure whether we need him though, but would be great competition for Smallwood.

 

You havent even given us the club.

We dont need another AM, we have 2 very good ones sat on the bench.

 

Will always be a truth in football for a home team. I'm not suggesting we should be winning every match at HT as that's just nearly impossible, especially at this level when most the teams are of a similar standard baring the odd player. But we can't go from August to April again without going into the break ahead at home.

Looking at Wigan's pre season friendlies, there were 2 scorers that featured in a couple of the games, mainly Rankine and Thelo Aasgaard. Rankine played today and Aasgaard wasn't in the squad. So are we saying Aasgaard? Or am I way off? As Aasgaard has, according to wiki played 114 times for Wigan and is 22. Not under 21 and needing games.
