edit - would think all but confirms Jake Young's departure.

 

Has scored goals in loan spells at our level and below. 6ft 1. So not a tiny lad. Sounds like a replacement for Young TBH.

 

Although I'd like to think this is due to a loan move for Smith or a transfer out for Oliver, I suspect it's Young who's the more likely departure

 

Not so fast. It could well be Smith or Oliver.

 

Scored 4 goals in 20 games last season for Sutton. Another real signing of intent....

 

Oliver is useless and Smith is shite but Young is the one to leave.

 

I wouldn't question signings at the moment until we've seen them play, unless it's an Ash Taylor and we've been given fair warning. People questioned Kavanagh's goal scoring abilities and also Walker's keeping abilities before they came and they both turned out well.
I think the most frustrating thing is why can't Jake Young have been given a chance when he scored 15 the season before? There's something deeply concerning at what's happening with him and the club, that hopefully one day we'll get to the bottom of. If it is Young that goes and we get a fee, were obviously stacked with strikers, so a loan option makes sense, maybe the money will be invested elsewhere in the squad. I know a lot has been made of the left wing back position, but if we can get a more natural player for that position and then add competition for Smallwood, possibly a back up keeper at a push, we're done for this summer.

 

So is this the lad we've been waiting on that had the niggle or someone different?

 

He is only 20 tbf, and Sutton were a shite team last season. I'm more interested who he is going to replace to be honest. If it is Young then we will get a fee for him...lets see if that is reinvested in the team. I won't hold my breath

He also scored 9 goals for Oxford earlier in the season. 13 goals in 43 games for a kid learning the ropes? I'll take him

Unfair judgement IMO

 

It is not the incoming I am bothered about. The one striker who we know can score goals Young and there is strong speculation he is the one out of the door. Doesn’t make sense for a club who are desperate for promotion.

Not as harsh as you might think. Their fans said the football was terrible under him, and they lost their last 5 games of last season, conceding 11 and scoring zilch. Not sure how their pre-season went, but i'm guessing the board were of the opinion lets give him 1 game, if it ends in defeat we act swiftly. Nothing surprises me anymore
