Sat behind the dugout you can see that Smallwood and Pattison were together flanked when attacking by Wright and Halliday.
Kavanagh was left of Cook and Sarcevic was right of Cook.
Might be slightly different to the end of last season but on Tuesday that was 3-4-3.

 

Yeah, I think we'll play 3 5 2. It makes sense after playing it for the majority of GA's reign last season.

Funny how we all see it differently , I thought Smallwood was pritty much on his own and Pattison and sarcevic played as 2 10s then we had 2 strikers in cook & kavanagh. 5-1-2-2 as such

That's how I saw it too.

 

Shepherd announced. Signed two year deal at Barnsley and immediate season long loan with City.

Barnsley must rate him pretty highly. Some fans online seem to think the loan here is beneath him? Wouldn't be surprised to see him recalled in Jan if he's doing well.

 

We might have sorted out a deal like we had with Crich where he couldn't be recalled in Jan.

 

Possibly. Their statement said... "What he needs this season is a lot of games, and we feel League Two is the right standard. Bradford are a good club to bring him on and we will see how he develops this campaign.” The "see how he develops" bit is what made me think there will be a recall clause, either if he is doing well or if he isn't making the team, they'll recall and send him elsewhere.

He seems well liked, did fairly well in pre-season so far from their fans. Round up seems to be he's a very raw and unpredictable defender but there's something in there for sure. Sounds like consistency was his problem at Barnsley but did better at Cheltenham in a poor team. Fingers crossed he is the piece we needed in defence.

He was at Cheltenham when Clarke was there and I think some people thought he mustn't have rated him given he's loaning him out now he's managing Barnsley. However, the fact he's just handed him a new 2 year deal with an option of a third immediately before sending him out to us suggests otherwise.
