Shepherd, rumoured loan signing, played 90 minutes for Barnsley today against Real Mallorca. Apparently, all players likely to be loaned out played. My Barnsley mate said he played pretty solidly.

If Baldwin and Byrne are his type though he probably needs to re-evaluate!

    Charlie Brown
    Age: 24
    Position(s): CF, Winger
    Club: Morecambe

Young forward Brown has a lot of pedigree, having come through the youth ranks at Chelsea

He had a good end to the season, scoring 3 and getting 2 assists in the final 8 games, and I can see him building on that this season
    Levi Amantchi
    Age: 23
    Position(s): CF
    Club: Bromley

A man mountain of a centre forward, Amantchi was signed at the back end of last season, but didn’t really feature

He’s hit the ground running this pre season, and could be crucial for Bromley

    Jamie Jellis
    Age: 23
    Position(s): CM
    Club: Walsall

Jellis was signed from NLN side Tamworth, but didn’t make too many appearances due to injury

However, reports from pre season look like he’s the midfield beast he showed he could be in non league

    Ossama Ashley
    Age: 24
    Position(s): CM, DM
    Club: Salford

Ashley arrived last summer with a lot of fanfare and expectation, but with just 8 appearances, he didn’t reach those heights

This season could offer him a real chance to reset. At his best he’s a great player at this level

    Josh Kelly
    Age: 25
    Positions(s): CF, AM, Winger
    Club: AFC Wimbledon

I think Dons fans started to see the quality Kelly has, but the rest of the league perhaps hasn’t quite noticed yet

I believe this season could be a real breakthrough for him in EFL. Has everything you want in a forward

    Jesse Debrah
    Age: 23
    Position(s): CB
    Club: Port Vale

Athletic defender Debrah joined Port Vale late, and had to jump up 2 divisions, so adjusting was always going to be hard

However, he has all the raw tools and attributes to be a real success

    Matthew Dennis
    Age: 22
    Position(s): CF
    Club: MK Dons

Max Dean’s departure left big shoes to fill; Dennis may be the man to do so

He’s been scoring plenty of goals in pre season, and scored 4 goals in 4 starts last season

    Jack Bycroft
    Age: 22
    Position(s): GK
    Club: Swindon

Bycroft has already captained the side on several occasions, despite his age and the fact he only joined last season

He joined at a difficult time, but he showed in non league what a fabulous keeper he can be
    Noah Chilvers
    Age: 23
    Position(s): AM, CM, Winger
    Club: Colchester

Chilvers was a frustrating one at times last season. The quality is clear everytime you watch him; the way he carries the ball exudes class

But his output hasn’t been fantastic. Under Cowley I’d expect it to increase this term

    James Berry
    Age: 23
    Position(s): Winger, AM, CF
    Club: Chesterfield

Berry made a successful step up last season, but I believe he has even another level in him this term

He’s been fantastic thus far in pre season, and has that ‘X Factor’ that’s so rare at this level

Have you told your OH that you have a new hobby - 'scouting' 20 something year old young men who happen to play football? ;)

In my Championship Manager days I would know everything about those players, including former clubs, contract details and boot size. Sadly nowadays I recognise about 2 names!

These aren't even the things you need go track these days.... Ollie Palmer and Paul Mullin had credited cameos in the new Deadpool films. On top of their already inflated salaries, those two will have made a fair penny from this!

But you were responding to Bantamsteve’s post regarding the lack of investment from Rupp to target a FREEBIE from Fylde.

My point being, fees were needed for the 2 players you quoted but Fylde have actually released the one we’ve been linked with. Surely we can do better than a player not deemed good enough for Fylde?

Not entirely sure what this has to do with anything. Are you saying you’re not bothered who owns us or how much gets invested into the team? It hasn’t always been like that though surely? I’m sure I recall you bemoaning a lack of investment/leadership over the last 6-7yrs, haven’t I?

Whilst this may have been the way you looked at your football club in the past, having seen us eating at the top table and getting to a cup final (neither of which you’d have seen in the 50+ years beforehand), surely you would crave more of it?

Well then, that's the transport to away games sorted. Just chuck 'em all the back of a curtain sider. Will definitely save on coach hire.

Byrne, Baldwin, NL trialists and even keeping Oliver (he scored goals in L1 a few years ago) is perfectly acceptable to some fans. As long we are there abouts and we have a club support then thats enough.

The main thing is Sparks, Sharp and Rupp just keep throwing out a few soundbites. Thats all they need to do. Spoon feed us shite and fans will lap it up and everyone is happy.

I thought my post was pretty straight forward as its got several likes and positive comments, there is a difference between wanting investment and going completely OTT with regards some of the comments on here.
With regards the ownership of our club I suggest the last paragraph of my reply makes my feelings towards the present owner very clear and during those 6/7 years myself and others were pointing out what was actually happening at our club under Rahic with no involvement from Rupp although at the time he was well aware of what was being said he preferred to trust his co-partner, did that come back to bite him on his arse.
With regards Premier League football I'm far from craving for the return to Valley Parade, for the 2 seasons we existed in the Premier beyond our wildest dreams certainly for the likes of myself who had seen so many poor times, IMO it was not all it was cracked up to be, we we're rubbing shoulders with the big boys in name only.
Take away the Richmond and the Rhodes family's time at the club and the few successful times were under the likes of Stafford Julian and Marks days, owners with little or no money to invest the club.

I'd argue that, pound for pound, our most successful owner was actually Stafford, who picked up a club less than an hour from total obliteration and took us to the equivalent of the Championship, with a team that never knew when it was beaten, yet spent no money along the way. BFG threw money at it. If Stafford hadn't got ill I'm sure we would have built on that.

When I shuffle off, it will be with praise for SH rather than BFG, yes he got us to the promised land, but like you I didnt really enjoy it, whereas the team of 87/88 built on the back of what Stafford & Tordoff did remains the best and most entertaining I've ever seen at VP.

Why can't you have praise for them both? It isn't a competition and surely the more chairmen we see as successful the better it will have been for the football club.

And yet with a little more investment that team would have gained promotion to the promised lands of the old first division. Football has also changed massively since those days, without big investment you're simply gonna stagnate.

Those were the points I was trying to get across, the times we've had success and certainly seen some great football was when the owner had little money to invest (or weren't prepared to do so with regards Jack the nearly season) of course I'd be delighted if the present owner invested more or we're taken on by someone who saw our potential and was more than happy to back it with hard cash.
I don't have to know how Rupp owns Bradford City or anything else involving our club at Company House, it has never been a priority for me or I'd suggest the majority of other fans supporting Bradford City, unfortunately some feel they need to know all the goings on behind the scene's what players earn etc.
I don't need to know that to support our club you need to be at the game cheering, chanting, clapping our team on and waiting for the next game to do the same.
Now if some want to categorise the likes of you, myself and the majority of other fellow Bradford City fans as excepting mediocracy because they renew year on year, let them go ahead and break their balls worrying about something they have little or no control over even by not renewing, 14,000 once again showed their loyalty with regards Bradford City Football Club and renewed.
