During the "Lean Years" we were a poor team with a ramshackle ground and we knew it, there was never a belief we could one day be a premier league or Div 1 as it was then team, we were a united set of fans who never knew anything different
GR changed all that a man with vision who put his heart and sole into the club (Stafford did too but to no avail)
His vision got us the ground the camaraderie the spirit and personnel to make the dream. a reality I know it ended badly but I wouldn't swap the Richmond years for the other 50 odd other years I have been a supporter
What have we got now to drive us on
A half hearted at best absent owner who after 6 years in the bottom division promises the earth but is yet to deliver and the CEO needs no comment other than he's out of his depth
Fans have seen what can be done, have tasted the glamour of the Premier League and want that again for this club are frustrated that we now seem happy to trundle along in the khazi league blueprint being dont go down dont go bust !!!
No wonder some of us longer term (older) fans are questioning the feasibility of buying season tickets and questioning the current state of affairs

He played central about 6ft 6 and 3ft wide but he looked to have a bit of pace about him and he pinged a few great diagonal balls , not saying it was the best standard to judge him on but he certainly did himself no harm

If anyone thinks individually not buying a season ticket will make things change , then they are sadly deluded. When work and a near 400 m round trip meant myself and the two young uns stopped getting season tickets , I don’t remember getting begging letters from Valiey Parade ?. It’s ebb and flow of the fan base over time, nothing more, nothing less.

I know everyone on here waits for baited breathe for my football expertise Kev but I’m not a psychic unfortunately. Their investment came too late in the window to fully make an impact. Their spending can be better judged this season imo.

 

No doubt they failed last season, their owners should take the blame imo Broncs not due to lack of investment but sacking Harris when in the playoffs. Imo they would have been up there and Crawley ironically would have missed out. The 3 biggest spenders with budgets of over £4 million were Wrexham, Stockport and MK Dons who all ended in the top 4. Let’s be honest here while it doesn’t guarantee success it’s the best way to succeed, the odd Crawley will go up but that’s usually clubs with little expectation that do well on small budgets. Our rabble of a fan base isn’t as forgiving.
