    But if you look beyond the mistakes, which all league 2 players make, and yes he has made some crackers, he looks like he can actually play a bit. Eradicate some of the mistakes and we might have a player.

    He's 27, not a 19 year old rookie!

    Those "mistakes" are why County let him go and they're the reason why he's never established himself as a football league standard player up to now.

    And who better to do that than a former international defender (albeit for Scotland) who played over 1,000 league matches ? Though a little worrying to realise at 29 he's only ever played 53 games in the EFL.

    Well he isn't going to be good at defending as he's spent his whole life training as a forward. He's going to make some mistakes but we have to hope that he has more of an impact going forwards in terms of crosses, assists, shots, goals than a more defensive player like say Ridehalgh would.

    Just to confirm again, Baldwin wasn't released by Notts as they didn't want him, he rejected their offer... Exactly the same as happened with Platt
