I rate Johnson when fit. If he stays fit then yes, he will be an upgrade. The fact he's only been offered a 1 year deal suggests there are doubts about that.

 

Think Stubbs if fit cud be a key player for us this season. Baldwin at least adds pace to the defence. Which last season we struggled with. Kelly improved alot as the season went on. And stockport fans were all complementary on Byrne. Holiday and Johnson to compete for the right wing back. Dont thi k the defence is as bad as some making out. My main concern is whether Wright is a wing back lol

 

There are but I'm not sure it gets us anywhere if we spend funds on paying up the contracts of high earners rather than new signings, which is what would be what is required if we can't find clubs for them

 

Season long absences are rare and do you think we will be the only ones. Our opponents will also have injuries we have a squad capable of challenging as promised. And there will probably a couple of loans to come as well

 

You're missing the point. They were part of the squad last season so they aren't additions. Every squads has injuries and needs extra players to cover. I'm sure every club can say "if we didnt have x or y injured we'd have finished higher". It's not something unique to us.

 

I know they are not additions but they will be for selection unlike last season therefore they will Strengthen the team as Alexander pointed out

 

Osabdebe and Pato in the last two years.

 

You need to learn the difference between replacement and addition.

Oyegoke was young, raw and likely to improve once exposed to senior football.

The two defenders we've brought in since he left have only around 100 football league appearances between them despite being 31 and 27. One was nothing more than a squad man and the other was a big part of the worst defence in the whole division in his first full season as a regular of any team.

I'd love to believe those facts shout "upgrade" but surely even the most positive City fan can admit that, at best, they feel very mediocre signings.

Maybe we should tell him if he can't find a club prepared to take him on for what he's getting at Valley Parade Bradford City will make up the difference win win, Oliver is playing regular football and we don't have a large wage to pay monthly ?.

 

If as someone's posted McDonald is helping out coaching and he's fit enough to step in if required he only has 11 months on his contract which will have been budgeted for, if he's happy to go great but I wouldn't think he's a massive drain on the club.

 

Baldwin replaces Taylor upgrade Johnson replaces Oyegoke neutral Byrne replaces Platt to be decided and Stubbs is fully fit after being missing for months. Plus probably further loan signings. so forward and midfield strengthed, defence we will soon find out
