That rules him out for me, if Oliver goes we could bring some cover for the Cooky Monster but other that I'm happy with what we've got up top. If Rupp is genuine about providing extra funding if we need it I think it would be better spent on a dominant CB.

 

He could only dream about his name being used in the same breath as Grigg who is different gravy. Much more likely in the same sentence as Greggs

 

Not comparing as in talent.... comparing situations as free agents. Same with Norwood and there will be others. But Grigg was struggling in L2 and nobody was willing to pay his wages, however Chesterfield were more than happy to launch money at him for promotion. Really wouldn't be surprised if one of the NL big spenders give Bogle his biggest contract in years.

Is there any actual credence in this guff about Wyke?
I haven't seen anything anywhere that suggests we're looking at him.
Seems like someone put 2 + 2 together and got 5 and pure speculation has become fact.

Yeah that's pretty much it. The 2 + 2 being that he's posted pictures with our players and vaguely hinted at City, singing take me home in one video and liking some of the clubs posts. Also the fact we'll be trying to replace Oliver and he's a like for like who may be willing to drop down a league. Add wishful thinking to that aswell.

 

I still don't agree if true, saving back all this money for Wyke, we don't need another forward player. I'd rather us put the money into a very good left wing back, so then both wing backs can move high up the pitch and create balls for Cook & Young to attack. At the moment, Richards isn't that player and Gillead if shoehorned in there turns into Kieran Trippier, who then cuts inside and makes it harder for strikers to read deliveries.

 

Yeah I agree there mate, I don't want Wyke if it means sacrificing the budget and getting a below par left back and centre half. I'm guessing we'd offer Wyke 3 years which could tempt him

 

We should be able to do both if Rupp is true to his word.
My God, look at the business that other clubs are doing yet some of you are just ingrained with the unambitious nature that runs through this club. It’s like we will literally accept mediocrity.

 

It's more accepting the fact other clubs have more money or more willing owners.

 

I agree with the post but given the outgoings and Rupps promise to invest them I can't see why bringing in Wyke would anywhere near blow the budget.
