I think they are waiting to announce this at the fans forum. Maybe walk him out in the new home shirt.

Maybe. Or I guess another option could be that Bobby's had sight of the fixture list and we've got Notts at home first game of the season...

That’s probably just about the imminent return to training

Can we try and get back on topic please. The recent posts, on this thread, on Scotland and UK politics have now vanished!

One on my wishlist, Conn-Clarke signed for Posh on Monday.
One of 3 signed from the national league this week.

Didn't he go for a decent fee though Vin? I suppose that would rule us out immediately.

High 6 figures Posh said. His rumoured release clause was £750k so I guess it lines up?

Only thing with a release clause at this level, if you trigger it then that's it, it's a one off flat fee. So clubs now in L1 and above to NL try meet in the middle it seems looking at other deals. So for example, a £750K sell on fee... a club might say offer them £600k in installments and a 30% sell on to try get some money now and down the line to protect the NL clubs interests.

No word on what Posh did, other than they paid a high 6 figure fee.

    Some decent names there.

Ryan Bennett looks like he could be that experienced defender we lack but I'm assuming he would take the central spot so would that still leave us short at RCB? Liam Moore could fill that role but has barely played in 2 years so probably one for the avoid list. Sam Hughes, however looks a good fit. Good age, experience at a higher level and plays right sided centre half so presumably could either play alongside Stubbs or take the central spot. Apparently refused terms at Burton which, given he lost his place a couple of times might have meant it wasn't quite what he was looking for and may accept a contract with more security.

Josh Harrop is one to avoid. 7 starts in the last 4 years, double the number of sub appearances than starts in his entire career and at 28 he seems someone definitely on a downward trajectory. Can't find much on Wanya Marcal but given he's a winger then I don't imagine he's a target. Charlie Allens biggest pull seems to be that he's played everywhere across midfield in his short career so could have that versatility managers like if someone fancied a gamble on him as I can't imagine that he'd command much of the wage budget. Having been released I imagine he'll want to just get straight back in and potentially with that little bit of fire to prove his former employers wrong.

Omar Bogle could be an interesting addition, assuming Wyke isn't realistic and if we managed to move on Oliver. He's a decent goals record at this level and could rotate well with Cook or even has that bit of pace to play alongside him if needed.

I'm surprised Tom Pearce isn't on that list, given he will be known to Sharpe from his time at Wigan.

Be surprised if we went for Bogle. Decent record but had a rough season last year, just 1 goal since October and only managed 13 games in that time. Few muscle injuries coming in and out. Reading up on him, seems like his character rubs people up the wrong way sometimes. Like last season, telling people on Instagram how long he'll be out injured for before the club could put anything out pissed off the management. He and Wellens had a fall out when he was at Donny and Wellens arranged him a transfer to our place in summer 2021, but Wellens said Bogle didn't want to move to City.

I'm sure he did an interview for BBC in the recent past saying he is now writing music and DJ'ing in his spare time, thinking of life after football. He also had 6 points and a big fine last season for driving without insurance. Can see him being the next Grigg or Norwood type who suddenly sign for an NL club on big money.
