It’s like going back to the 60-70 ‘ s mud baths . In fairness we have had non stop rain for days and days in the East and its getting depressing . The local fields drains etc are just awful . Went up to Boston yesterday and it was no better en route . I understand the Midlands have had it much worse than us ?

It's certainly wet around here: 42 flooded photos after heavy rain leaves Staffordshire town looking like this

We're into 4 weeks of local council pitches being closed. Which is causing chaos for junior football, well for the clubs that don't have 4G

Their FA cup game against Bristol City has been postponed and rearranged for 3rd March which is very surprising the FA have allowed that date when the 5th round is the weekend after.

There's a potential this game may be moved to the Wednesday at short notice.
They play Bristol City on Tuesday 3rd with the winner playing the next round at home to Sunderland on Sunday 8th, if Port Vale were to somehow win them there's no way they will play Sunday, Tuesday so our game will have to be pushed back to the Wednesday.

The FA or the powers that be dont go out of the way for lower league sides ............look at us in 2015 ????
    Scunthorpe away on the Saturday
Reading away on the Monday night in a quater final replay ..........now put money on if that would have been a PL side that would never have happened

The problem with that one was the UEFA regulations that meant at that time domestic games couldn't be on TV at the same time as the Champions League so it was either Monday or 5:30 on Tuesday, that has since been changed due to pressure on UEFA from the likes of the FA.

With Port Vale winning in the FA Cup tonight, and now a 5th round match on Sunday 8 March, expect this match to be moved again.

I think it will be put back 24 hours as Port Vale have a busy schedule, currently they only have 21st April and 28th April available with their game against Peterborough scheduled for Saturday still to fit in. They are also due to play Stockport on 11th April which is the day before the EFL Trophy final which Stockport have qualified for tonight.

I'd expect conversations have already happened and confirmation will be first thing tomorrow if not tonight.

They can’t just move a date 24 hours later with less than a weeks notice.

Not sure on the regulations around fixtures moving, but moving it 24 hours later at this stage sounds off. I can see this game being one of our final few games of the season now in late April.

It could get worse for Vale with fixture congestion if they beat Sunderland as the quarter final would be 4th April meaning both their Easter games would be off.

Plans for the Sunday game would have been made already in the event they won. Short notice for fans yes but not for staff / officials / police etc.

And moving the game 24 hours may have been s contingency agreed by both clubs and police in the event of PV progressing in cup. We shall see....

I don’t think so as if that was the case they would have announced it so that people could also make contingency plans.

The problem is for port vale is they have 3 Tuesday slots last which are the 2 mentioned and the Tuesday before Easter, I doubt any club would want to play then and if they were to put one of the games on then it would leave Port Vale with no Tuesday spaces available which I don't think the EFL will want especially when their pitch isn't in great condition
