Definitely won't be high scoring. They've only conceded 21 goals in 18 games despite their poor position and 7 of those came in 2 games! 14 conceded in 16 games is very good. They just can't score.

We definitely don't want to go behind. They'll defend for their lives.

But also this is where our lack of pace options shows up a bit. We need more options that can stretch the game beyond opposition defence. Pointon, Sarcevic, have stamina but we need some more pace.

Tonight is the biggest game of the season so far for me
Vale park always seems to be an unhappy hunting ground for us
With Stevenage and Cardiff facing off, a win can possibly see us go top or open a bigger gap
It won’t be easy or pretty but let’s keep a fourth clean sheet in a row , nick a goal or hopefully two and go into Saturday,s game in a real position of strength

Just like Cardiffs pitch and look at how that finished. I think this huge pitch will help our style of play and actually provide the width for the likes of Josh to tear them to bits with his pace (hopefully)

    Hope you’re correct
Would be fantastic to turn up at VP on Saturday with us top of the league
This season really is beyond what any of us thought in August
Let’s continue backing the lads to the hilt and enjoy the ride, even if there is a bump or two in the road
This is payback for those seasons in league two

Why is it biggest? We are 2nd, they are 24th. It is not a 6 pointer.

I would be worried if players like Byrne played. Irrespective of their merits certain players seems to be slow around the pitch and although timing/positioning can help, raw pace is something which allows you to keep forwards in check.

    Below are some interesting stats

Here are the pace ratings (PAC) for Bradford City's centre-backs according to EA SPORTS FC 26:
    • Aden Baldwin: 66 PAC
    • Matthew Pennington: 63 PAC
    • Ciarán Kelly: 55 PAC
    • Curtis Tilt: 50 PAC
    • Neill Byrne: 45 PAC
    • Tom McIntyre: 43 PAC
    • Joe Wright: 36 PAC
Touray has a 84 PAC so interesting to see if he plays as a wing back or left sided centre back.

    We potentially could go top
Port vale rock bottom and struggling
    Ground where we struggle
Thumped last season and a dismal performance
we know what usually happens when we come across games like this
its A test as we are better against the better teams

We don't like going top for some reason?

Big game this and time for some to recapture some of their early season form - Neufville and Pointon particularly who have both gone off the boil a bit.

Be interesting to see how / if Bobby is accommodated. Maybe push Touray back into back 3 over Kelly and Wright at wingback or leave Touray / Kelly as per last match and drop T Wright. Or he may just leave as is - that's my hunch, Pointon never as effective in away games so might be preferred from the bench.

Forget going top tonight, it would be better for Cardiff to win if we also win to open the gap.
Stay toe to toe with Cardiff until we play them in January to take top spot.

Centre back i would say for Touray.
No point building in flexibility to the squad through good recruitment if we don't take advantage of it and flex the team/system to suit different conditions/opponents.

Let Wright play left wing back - i know his defensive side isnt great but let's take advantage of the bigger pitch and give him the chance to run into space.

We only need to be top for 5 minutes if the five minutes is from the 85th minute on the 46th game of the season!

I would rather get well ahead of them and extend our lead with a good Taffy bashing in jan

Using the new BCAFC feed websites generator, this is the team i'd use

    upload_2025-12-9_10-19-16.png

Pace out wide for Wright and Neufville but i'd go two up top with Sarce in behind. Strikers rotating around the pitch to create space for Neufville and Wright to run into on the big wide pitch but also with Swan and Humps, it's probably our quickest two for balls over the top on the break.

I'd love a Swan and Humphrys goal each game tonight.

    wow.
I realised that McIntyre was slow and thought that was why GA was reluctant to start him, but hadn't realised how slow Wright was?
