One good run and a soft penalty do not constitute a bloody striker, it's about goals and assists and so far Humphrys hasn't done much of either as a starting striker. I want the lad to succeed but his run for the penalty came from wide out on the touchline, it's what he likes to do. We didn't win today because of a strikers contribution, we won because Plymouth were utter dogshit.

By the sounds of his post match interview Alexander is going to play him in the striker role even when most can see he can't play the role and at times doesn't look interested in playing that role, but the season were having its difficult to criticise Alexander ?.

I thought, for the first time I can remember, that Graham seemed very touchy and defensive in that interview. I hope his seeming obsession with making Humphrys something he isn't doesn't prevent him from signing a proper front man in January, but I suspect it might well do.

He certainly made his point very clear to the interviewer. as I posted it's difficult to criticise the man when were where we are in the league.

Sometimes.... wtf is he thinking? I'm no manager but jesus wept, any moron sharing an eye can see Humphrys isn't a striker?

Oh, the criteria is running a lot for a starter these days? Lets get Mo Farah off the farm farmfoods adverts then Graham pal.

But that’s the system and space down the sides is the price we pay for it. Defensive failures over the last few weeks have meant we are not committing forward as much as what we were because of that.soi believe we need better midfielders who are good at box to box

Every good moment from Humphrys has come from him cutting in from the left.

    And Neill Byrne is sh1te.

    Football really isn't that difficult.

    Truly Dismal game.

    Dull from City.

    Fortunate Penalty.

They are second from the bottom (and it showed)!

Some poor performances and getting cards for very little gain.

Great attendance and support from the City faithful.

    Another 3 points.

    Another clean sheet.

Players giving huge ❓ about their performance.

Soon as this fades from the memory the better.

Absolutely mental to think of the damage he could do week in week out if he was camped out permanently in that area in and around the left of the penalty area. I just don't get it.

Yes, for he second time this season. I’d already taken that into account in my post.
Coventry have lost once. Arsenal and us have lost twice. Everyone else has lost more.

I think 95% of fans know that Cook is on his last legs, father time waits for no one and he has been a L2 and NL striker pretty much his entire career. He will see out the season and be on his way in June.

Kavanagh isnt good enough for L1. Looks like GA has seen it first hand now.

Humphrys is at his best when he is running with the ball not playing with his back to goal. The lead up to the penalty is a prime example. He's direct, strong on the ball (unless absolutely wiped out like yesterday in the penalty area :p) and no slouch. He's doing a job for the team leading the line, but it isn't his strength.

The challenge is that he and Bobby are competing for the same position broadly on the left. Without Bobby we lack guile, something that was missing from yesterday's performance.

Said it a few times, we havent been the same since we humiliated Cardiff 1-3. I dont know whats happened but guessing injuries and inconsistencies in the starting 11 may have played a part - lost of rythm.

That said we are W3 D5 L1 since (sorry im not including the cups as irrelevant now). That includes draws against Lincoln, Stevenage and Bolton who are contenders, and Rotherham and Barnsley in Yorkshire Derbies. The only real dissapointment was Burton, but these results will happen in a 46 game season.

We are in a results business first and foremost and 2nd in the league is some achievement and we have become one of the hardest teams to beat out of the 92.

Port Vale and Reading are there for the taking and the remaining December fixtures are appetising too. We could be top on New Years Day.

Christ, if that's one of their better performances they are doomed. To be fair I think they have some decent players, they're just not being coached very well.

I use the Newcastle game after the Cardiff game as a marker where we played a weakened side that had no chance of winning a league 1 game never mind pulling off a cup shock. I'll be honest I don't think we've put a decent 90 minutes together since that game, sounds a strange thing to say when we find ourselves second in the table, I just think its a poor division team wise.
