Yeah the next few games could see little returns in the points column. Big performances needed.

Swindon (h), Notts (a), Vale (h) & Chesterfield (h) all before new years. We are slowly slipping away from the top spots and closer to the bottom half and realistically need to win a few of these. Bigger question for me is how itchy is Sparks trigger finger? Currently 1 win in 9, Tuesday night away to Stockport should be seen as a free hit but could go either way in the cups. If we fail to beat Stockport or Swindon, 1 win in 11.... I think that could be curtains for Alexander.

Hopefully it won’t just be down to Sparks’ trigger finger this time round. Sharpe played a big role in sticking with Clough through more than a couple of poor seasons

As predicted by those pesky "negative" posters that somehow get it right year on year by failing to overestimate the distinctly average signings.

Both Kavanagh and Sanderson have been poor recently. It wouldn’t matter who GA selected TBH.

I’d argue it’s more the faith kept in those from last season that killed us and I’ll admit I was one of them that had faith.
Expecting Kavanagh to be able to step up next to cook.
Expecting Smallwood to carry on holding down midfield on his own.
Expecting Sam Walkers good stats from Jan- onwards to carry on.
Expecting Wright to stay at LWB because it worked for the last 7 games
Then you add the likes of Halliday and J Walker that have dropped below their usually good levels and endless injuries / suspensions.
I just wish I could have faith in any of this being rectified in January

Maybe, we should have stuck Oliver on top of the office block and played the roof up front.

    Hardly poor was it ?????
    A play off finish ???
Missing out on the plays by goal difference before getting them up so the signs where in place of getting it right unlike this shambles

It was the usuall con job when the season was dead and burried that magically players looking for new deals started to turn up and we looked ok

Both of them are never get the number Cookdoes we could all see it and it should have been dealt with during the summer ................we aint talking the goals Andy Cook gets but at least one of them should be chipping in with 10 to 15 goals be amazed if the entire forward line apart from Cook gets that

So would you expect the club to appeal against the red ?.

Not really, as he still swipes towards the player on the ground. In the refs eyes, it's violent conduct and there won't be enough for an overturn to prove the ref wrong. And if the appeal fails, it's another game added to the ban.

Nigel Clough would have been sacked by us 3 or 4 times over and we both know it. 21st, 16th, 7th then 8th. You don’t really think we’d have stuck with him? Why didn’t we stick with Hughes if that’s the case

It certainly would have disappeared had we still got Rhodes and Lawn at the helm,in fact it would be how much can we get for Cook and can we get a good fee plus a sell on for Pointon. Although both players probably wouldn’t be here as they would both have been sold after a first round defeat to Wycombe last season. Cup runs were keeping us going in those days and the final whistle at Morecambe last week would have been crisis time.

Which both Julian & Mark made perfectly clear many times, "we need a Cup run or we sell a player", those halcyon days when we had an asset who could command a transfer fee.

I've just got in from watching a different code today. All I've seen are the highlights and the comments on here. I can't see any reason for Pattison doing anything wrong at all. And from what I saw we were getting a lot of players in attacking positions in the penalty box. And we might well have scored more than the one we did. I've often wondered in my head how we would do without Cook, but then his scoring record negates all that. But I still wonder. He's never been in a promotion winning team despite scoring loads of goals. And despite those goals for us we've gone nowhere as a club. And no club from a higher division has ever come in for him. And he's coming to the end of his career. Things to ponder.

Not sure if it’s be mentioned, but why wasn’t there a minutes silence for our ex manager The Doc?

Is it? We appealed Byrne's red unsuccessfully and I don't think he's had another game added to his ban.

He took over when they stood 21st in the league so he was never gonna do anything amazing was he ????? Think his first part season was to keep them up which he did
The following season wasnt the best but they may have been on a build up to what happened last season .................maybe Sharpe and co could see that progress was being made and with a little tweek here and there it would come ...................unlike this shambles which put it frankly looks nothing like a team that will come together ..........its a squad where our big earners are pushing well into there 30s or are simply crocks.

How do you know if we would have sacked him anyhow if the football is entertaining and the fans can see progress along the way then why would you ???????

Why didnt we stick with Hughes ?????? Dull football and a backward step to what went on the previous season thats why he went

Walker has been mistake ridden, we asked for competition.

Defence was cobbled together with cast offs - we shared our concerns. Its kept 3 clean sheets all season.

Midfield is crap as ever. No alternative for Smallwood, nobody who can chip in with a decent goal return. Injury prone too.

We wanted at least 1 more goal scorer to take the weight off Cook.

Oh and where is the pace?

Us neagtives said this all summer and were told by the naive idiots on here (sold a bill of goods by Rupp) to just get behind the lads.

Here we are, midtable in Decembrr, playing shite and about to lose another manager if things dont improve.
