I don't care about the Doncaster game on Tuesday or that entire competition, the focus has to be on the league and at least trying to put together a string of games for our best XI - we'd have a crack at promotion if we can do that, but I think the season will fall apart if we can't.

It could be said , a long shot though , he may have challenged because the defender bringing the foul hadn’t a hope of getting the ball, because the forwards body was in the way.

All this theory about them having a midweek game and we didn’t being a massive advantage to us should be put to bed. It’s the excuse that the likes of Klopp and Guardiola moan about, but they had a tough game at Rotherham Tuesday ,didn’t use a single sub but held out easily against us. This two weeks break we had after playing Rotherham on a Thursday and having the following two weeks off didn’t do us much good. We haven’t won a league match since.

We have looked low energy since the Barnsley game for some reason. We have been slow to the press and Burton capitalised. They were passing quickly to any available white shirt and stretched us.
Better in the second half but we were pissing about with the ball and not creating enough chances.
GA needs to come up with the oft promoted Plan B, however nebulous that may be, for tactics like Burton's.

 

I have to give credit to Bowyer, his tactics were bang on. Sat off us which negated our press somewhat and silenced the near 20,000 home fans which has been a big positive for us.

Only he knows what he true intention was but as I said before with the law as it is it is almost impossible to be sent off for a challenge with the feet which is why I never understand any player pulling down an opponent in that position. He's near enough to the ball for the only option for the ref is a yellow card.
If this happened earlier in the game I would have been one of them questions of whether you'd prefer the yellow card and penalty or for the foul to be 2 yards further back and to be a red card but a free kick.
