That’s Cooky. He’s never had the basic control skill, but playing on instinct he’s one of the best we’ve had.

 

I think it’s unlikely either will leave in January. Can only see that happening if we sign a top notch automatic starter midfielder to play alongside Power, thereby pushing both Pattison and Metcalfe down the pecking order as the usual midfield substitutes.
GA has said several times that ‘Laps’ has been unlucky to not get more game time. He clearly values his pressing energy and his goal threat. He’s also said that, with our squad depth, there are often going to be very good players, well capable of doing a good starting job, who don’t even make the bench some weeks. And he’s clearly happy with that situation.

 

Fully agree on the Lapslie points, for what its worth I think he's a very effective player when he's used. My thinking was more on it gets to a stage where it's working for GA, but is it working for the player?

He's 28 now and has only made 3 appearances in L1 this season with 161 minutes under his belt. It's all well and good with GA giving him boosts in the media, but surely at some point the player will want to play more football? I don't think he'll be one that actively seeks a move or wants out at all. But if one of the chasing promotion back in L2 reach out in Jan and offer him more game time than he's seeing here, he might be tempted. It's tough when you're fringe players are 27/28+ as experienced pros will want to play.

 

I was all for a win tonight based on Lincoln losing 2 of the last 3 with 0 SOT from Saturday and a quick turnaround from a trip to that there London, plus, hoping that we’ve got a couple more players available tonight. The Voice’s preview has brought me down a bit but with the carrot of going top dangling there, you’ve got to take advantage of these situations and I think we will - C’mon City …

 

Pointon and Sarcevic are our two biggest misses at the minute. We can probably cope without one but with both out it really limits our creativity and cutting edge in the final third. Lapslie doesn't do enough for me and neither does Wright in that position. Its probably the one area we are lacking quality in depth. Hopefully one is back tonight at least otherwise it'll be another slog.

 

I see that the game is on Sky tonight! Nothing mentioned on my Sky schedule yesterday or earlier, but it has just appeared. Anyone else see this earlier?

 

We need Pointon back to replace Wright who is back to the usual 1 in 4 half decent games. He's not scoring at all and rarely creates. I'm struggling to see how he gets in before Lapslie who at least finds the net.

 

Been there since at least yesterday when I checked.....

 

Wright is so bloody frustrating he can take a man on and can shoot but always takes the easier option is it a lack of confidence ????? I dont know but he should be stepping up big time and if he doesnt over the next two months or so then he should be another to be pushed out of the door come Jan

 

I guess you could be right about him being tempted by more game time in L2. We shall see.
I think there’s a good chance that he’ll start tonight, in place of Tyreik Wright, given how well he did when he came on last Saturday. If any of Sarc, Patto or Bobby are fit enough to play I reckon they’ll be on the bench and come on for the last 20 or 30 minutes.

 

Can you please update me on any roadwork issues in the Listerhills Road area please ..

 

Cook hasn't controlled the ball well at all in any of his outings which is worrying since he scored several with his feet pre-injury, including good runs from out wide.

If he's just a heading and volleying machine then he'll still be useful at times, bur come on Cooky, get the ball down lad! It's like his legs still aren't doing what his brain wants them to, which I suppose is understandable but has to change.

I think Sarc will be back. I'm hoping GA rested a couple who had minor injuries with one eye on tonight, which is a must win.

Agree that we're struggling if he and the others are out though. Surely Pennington is back?

 

Probably just the usual Golf/Audi issues tbh.

After a few draws, I am fully expecting 3 points tonight at home. Hopefully a big convincing win to send us away all happy going into the FA Cup
