What a strike from Sheppy. Nice to see the lads fight back from a goal down - big three points that. We need more of these wins where we aren’t always dependent on Cook digging us out. All of a sudden, things looking a bit rosier.

This Gills fan clearly disappointed to lose to such a poor team.
Incredibly frustrating game and result against a hugely limited Bradford side. Their (as pointed out by their fan with Matt GITB this week) only quality player is Cook and he didn’t perform today and was hooked. Their game plan was pump balls into our box (which Bonner said would be the case before the match so we should have known) and we still couldn’t deal with it.

We went 1-0 up deservedly and clearly have better players than them and created some great moves in the first half, the goal being an example and several others, the sort Bradford didn’t really create all game. Then at 1-0 we simply - keeper and defence - couldn’t defend basic set pieces and humps into the box and went in 2-1 down at half time - much more than Bradford deserved.

Second half we huffed and puffed and created sweet FA. Anything we did create came through Hawkins and then the masterbrain Bonner took him off and decided that passing the ball backwards and sideways was our route back in to the game - it clearly wasn’t.

We probably deserved a draw on balance but can only blame ourselves for another defeat - four in a row - to a limited team who we should at least be getting a point from.

Yeah, I liked that too bots. I wish we had the resources to make it safe standing in that lower tier too, it would look great scoring at that end if it was full.

Hmm. Not sure which game was being watched here. We cut through Gills for fun with excellent passing moves several times in the second half. Keeper made two excellent saves with his feet from Oduor and Cook. Oduor also dribbled through the whole defence before shooting narrowly wide. Kavanagh shot just wide with the keeper motionless. And let’s not forget that we’d have been 1-0 up if Kav hadn’t had a brain fart and touched a goal bound effort from an offside position.
We had sixteen shots to Gills’ six and were well on top and cruising for long periods until consolidating in the last quarter. Gills fannied about with ball for long periods but, apart from the first half hour, never looked like hurting us. TBH, if we’d won 4-1 it wouldn’t have flattered us.

He must be a spotty 15 year old . Does he know how far from reality those comments are. Another fool who thinks possession wins a game of football? Really.

The problem with 6 seconds is that is really is too short especially if you are defending a corner and if you punish it you end up with an indirect free kick inside the area which is always a farce.

The issue football will always have is that no matter what laws you put in place there will always be teams that are looking at ways around them. It's just like how teams get around the 30 second rule by either having the player who is down going off or the keeper goes down. Everyone does it, it's one of them things that people hate when it's against you but you don't care when it is for you

One of the most enjoyable games in a long time. A decent advert for League Two. I still think we look brittle at times, but the game had loads of entertainment value.
City and Doncaster are both hitting good form, although Rovers (like City) are not as robust on their travels. Potentially a great game next weekend. I expect a lot of the sold seats to be filled!

Very competitive at the top of league 2 so far and nice for us to start getting some momentum. The big games are the ones against Donny, Port Vale and Walsall. If we can start taking points off the better teams then we have a strong chance of a successful campaign.

In an earlier post, he said that Gills were the classier side and deserved to go ahead. I must admit their goal was very good though.

Good for them but poor from us. Nobody got anywhere near any of their players on the counter attack. Too easy for them but admit he took the goal well.

It was a goal, not outstanding , but a goal nevertheless. His summary , not his earlier pronouncements , said it all. “You can’t expect to win a game of football passing it laterally” for minutes on end. He’d have loved it here under MH;)

So we sort of looked like we knew what we were doing as a team yesterday. Looked MUCH better when Wright went off in all honesty. Much more balance across the team.

If the final result was 4-1 it wouldn't have flattered us. Good to see chances being created across the team not just relying on Cookie Monster to get all the goals.

When was the last time two CH's scored in the same game?

Thought the ref had a good game and I am all for booking players for keeping/kicking the ball away. Been a bug bear of mine for a long time. Wish more would do it.

There are calls for making the keeper get rid of the ball from hand within 8 seconds-I would add throw ins to that as well. Worth a trial. I know we had the 6 second rule years ago but since then the dark arts has really crept into the game with endless time wasting so now would be a good time to bring it back and give it another go-especially now refs and lino's are all linked via earpieces-much more communication=much more scrutiny.

It's over 25 years since the 6 second rule was introduced everywhere by FIFA. It's never been removed and to this day, remains part of the English FA's own rules. It's ironic that despite the FA''s recent changes to speed up the game and penalise time wasting elsewhere on the pitch, the existing 6 sec rule for keepers remains unenforced by refs. It's bizarre imo. Yes, it can easily be worked around and some FAs criticised the time limit itself. It's now being trialled again - with the time extended to 8 secs - in various leagues. Why FA's don''t simply tell refs to enforce their rules defeats me.
