Certainly not! Not even after a couple of splendid pints in the Records caf.

Not many managers say, ‘we started off brightly, deservedly scored, but we then fell away, were poor, and my substitutes, plus game plan, made no difference’. ‘The owners have said they have full confidence in me, despite 4 straight defeats’!

Of course he is going to say something like ‘we deserved something out of it’.

Tuesday's match could bring the unwanted yellow cards. The match referee Jamie O'connor is making his league debut at Cheltenham and according to the stats he averages 5 yellow cards per game.

It would be just our luck to lose two more defenders, this time through suspension for the Doncaster game. Let’s hope they avoid that 5th yellow card on Tuesday.

The best performance this season to date. showed backbone to win from behind.
thought Gillingham were the best side at VP this season. We were deserved winners. All the side did well. Shepherd deserved MOTM. Odour excellent. Smallwood was good. The subs brought energy and the ability to close the game out. Well done GA. Need to repeat this performance. The side linked together well. It was fluid for the first real time this season.

I thought Bromley were a better outfit overall. However they have plummeted down the league now.

I agree with him Kev. This season that's the best opposition I've seen at VP. I'd not argue if anyone said Wimbledon but for me, Gillingham probably edged them because they actually came and gave it a go rather than trying to make it a 55 minute tug of war.

Bromley for me Dave. I don’t rate “ get nowhere “ passing Gills we’re engaged in , in the second half. They just petered out to nothingness when getting within 25 yards of goal. Even their fans say the same thing other than the young kid. I won’t knock ‘em in the first half but they just gave up trying to get in our box after conceding two ?

It wasn't me pal, I was highlighting another post suggesting that Shepherd was the weak link.

    @Captain Grumpy@Captain Grumpy I think it was.

Yeah, I admit it petered out once Hawkins went off but I thought they looked very dangerous for 60 odd minutes.

I wasn't at the Bromley game either though so I can't really offer an opinion on them Kev but someone else in the thread mentioned them so perhaps it's a good shout.

Bromley for me they continually kept coming forward even with 10 men, it looks like the momentum that they had from their promotion has dwindled and their finding it tough. I posted Gillingham offered little apart from high balls in for Hawkins and we never looked like losing once Byrne equalized.

Excellent game and my 9yo daughters second game and first win (first game was AFC wimbledon 0-0)

Lewis Richards is a cracking player. I feel like he just offers more than Wright and I feel safer with him at LWB than wright.

Great strike from Shepherd! But he was excellent in defence too. Well deserved win and we look like a team now with an identity.

What was refreshing about the Gills game which made it a much better spectacle was their willingness in the first half to actually play open football rather than parking the bus.

They seemed to do things the complete opposite way to everyone else.

I say that in the respect they knew , whoever scored the FOURTH goal would highly likely win the game, so they seemed to defend their status at 2-1 down and just get lucky , rather than attack us to get level.

I really don’t get why they took Hawkins off and latterly bring on the upside down leprechaun and play him sat in front of their back line. He’s never a Smallwood type player in a month of Sundays ?

Gills will probably win as many as lose throughout the season but defensively they are poor with weird tactics. 4 would not have flattered us in the end. What is becoming clear to me is our defensive game management is improving for sure?

Has anyone seen the Zidane / Shepherd montage City have put out on Facebook?

    Very clever.

Sorry I don’t find a way of linking it.
