True, but it is the selection process that bothers me. Go up into Manningham Lane and there you will find cars and vans parked on the pavement forcing pedestrians to walk on the road to get past. It is dangerous and illegal but not one gets booked that I have noticed. The law should be applied to all citizens.

Of course but I thought the comment was about tickets issued on Midland Rd. I just looked again , it was indeed. If supporters or anyone else gets a ticket for wrongly parking they can appeal. I got two in my life , I paid em because I ignored yellow lines or missed signs . My fault , nobody else’s. I couldn’t use whataboutism as an excuse surely?

That wasn’t my point. If you are going to enforce no parking on pavements you do so with every single offence all round the stadium. Like you I paid my parking tickets because I was at fault.

Unfortunately it's not an offence in this region to park on pavements. It is though an offence to cause obstruction. So, if you are forced to enter the road to avoid a parked car the police should do something about it but in reality it's just ignored.

Well nobody is doing anything about it and it has gone on for years. I thought it was an offence if there were double yellow lines on the adjacent road. I would think the whole of Manningham Lane does have yellow lines. Or otherwise they would be parked on the road.

I was looking into this recently. KK is right. It’s not an offence to park on the pavement as long is there is no obstruction

Outside of London, pavement parking is generally allowed unless a local authority has prohibited it with a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO), indicated by signs.

That is fairly recent. Not sure why anyone thinks it is ok to park on the pavement and to pass a law making it easier is just madness. What about ppl with disabilities like blind ppl for instance? Just after the match there are hundreds of ppl all going both ways down Manningham lane having to negotiate their way round cars and vans and inevitably having to walk on a very busy road. At least ban it for Saturday and Evening matches so no one is hurt or worse.

To be honest, even if they banned it during certain times.... would it be adhered to knowing the standard of driving in the area?

I am not disagreeing with you but there is no point unless it is rigorously policed. It is shocking that the authorities are allowing this to happen by default. If you get injured or worse whilst negotiating cars and vans parked on pavements then you would have a very good case to sue whoever is responsible for policing. Pavements are for pedestrians or am I being an old natter poke?

No arguments from me. The simple fact is they don't police the existing laws along there let alone adding more laws to be ignored.

Deflected wide and bounce back off the stanchion, making it seem from some angles it came back off the post / bar

Edit: Stanchion might not be the right word - the claret and amber pole holding the netting behind and to the side of the goal

100% agree . I had a row with some bell end contractor who had decided to completly block a 2m wide public footpath in our village forcing people out onto the road where huge tractors ply their trade ( I mean mega huge) . He moved it after pointing it out there was a public free car park just 50 m away and indicating I would “promote” his business for him by posting images of his parking all over the local Facebook pages . ( Covers about 100 sq miles ! ) .

The bottom of Gt Horton road any night of the week would be a goldmine if they could be bothered.

What you’re not saying though, is that the pavements you’re referring to on Manningham Lane are about four times the width of a normal pavement. Even with the cars parked on they’re double normal pavement width. Hence, they aren’t causing an obstruction so aren’t seen as a problem, unlike the cars parked on Midland Road which swallow the whole pavement and force pedestrians to walk on the road.

Seeing as the footpaths are double width, the driver double park on them. Same issue ensues!

Hopefully they also identify the clowns in the TL Dallas that were throwing stuff at Power as he waited to take the corner.
