The xg factor makes sense. The bookies are notoriously canny with their profiling as we know all too well but this feels like a real anomaly. Odds like these are usually reserved for games between teams with vastly differing league positions.

 

Worth keeping an eye on that then if they're statistically expected to be woeful.

Wonder what it is that's allowing them to overperform? Surely not the 6'9 guy from Town, he's pants, but that's the kind of stat you can't really account for. If he was good at headers he'd theoretically score every game.

Only other forward scoring goals and he can't get on the pitch. I don't know the phrase for it but Alexander goes through these periods where he seemingly just drops a player for no apparent reason and allows other out of form players to play ahead of them. Makes no sense to me.

 

I'm always a fan of playing our own players ahead of loan players wherever possible, but I just can't see how Kav gets in ahead of Sanderson

 

Surely he must be. Recent performances weren’t great, but not bad enough to be completely dropped and definitely not in the place of Kavanagh who has really struggled so far this season. I’m really hoping in Kavanaghs case he can get a goal and get back to the form we saw last season.

Happy to see 3 CBs and the return of Byrne. Main thing is it should allow Walker to play a more advanced pressing role rather be wasted on the right.
