The Orient v Stevenage game was on in the suite and Orient were terrible defending aerial duals Freestone and Piergianni scoring headers from corners, Beckles being the culprit twice.

 

GA has played it down. Didnt like Leigh kicking the water bottle and demanded he explained himself. Leigh did and the 2 grown ups moved on.

Players upset and frustrated when picking up a scrappy win....im all for that.

 

His man management is right up there.

 

If we beat Rotherham next week, we will be 10 points clear of 7th place team. Whilst accepting teams will have game(s) in hand, who could have possibly considered this at the beginning of the season.

 

Absolutely no one except did the Club?? But without raising expectations have they paid some decent wages to attract the likes of Nuefville and Power do you think?

 

Apparently Humphrys was on a wedge at Barnsley too.

 

So far so good. I doubt our wage bill is on the top 10 of league 1. So what GA has done with the squad has to be applauded. He speaks highly of the squad and they all seem to know their individual roles to a tee. Clarity.

 

Just got home. That was a very disjointed performance from the lads with very little quality on show.

Having said that, Josh's goal was fabulous. McIntyre was excellent at the back and won his aerial duals despite not being very big. Looked very comfortable on the ball too. Another great signing on this showing.

We improved when Patto and Cookie came on. I thought Andy made a big difference up front.

Blackpool were thankfully pretty toothless in attack despite us giving them a frightening amount of space to counter.

Anyway, a ugly win is still a win and we're still top of the league

Whilst airing your dirty laundry in public is not a great look this will probably be forgot about by Monday morning.

GA seems to have built a very strong team bond in his players and I suspect this won’t be allowed to jeopardise that.

 

Yes it was pretty plain to see, but to be fair he’s exceeded my expectations way way beyond pre season. L1 fullbacks/ wingbacks can’t touch him and his finishing I never expected.

 

Storm in a tea cup…. If he’s annoyed about his own performance, what’s not to like ?

 

It’s flipping outstanding and let’s be honest, nobody, but nobody , even a pragmatist like me , thought after 10 games we would have lost only 7 points ?

 

Leigh looked very tired Dave tbh.

 

You could have put money on it! Large squad and competition for your place. Nevertheless, TL needs to calm down, he can’t play in every match and the manager has the last say on this and he needs to accept this and also accept he is not perfect and will have off games. Fatigue, sickness and other reasons will affect your game. I am sure he will apologise to GA as that is the right thing to do.

 

It shows how far we have come in a short space of time when some fans thought our performance was relatively poor. Yes, we didn't blow the opposition away, and yes, especially the first half there were a few misplaced passes. However, this is to be expected after Wednesday's game against PL opposition that tested us physically and mentally. I thought we started the game well and if we had managed to score then, then we could have won more comfortably. But sometimes patience is the key. Defensively we looked sound and we were definitely the side that looked more likely to break the deadlock, which we did thankfully from a brilliant piece of skill from motm Neufville. I think is this was ten games in in L2 last season we'd be exuding more plaudits on today's performance. As I said at the beginning, we've come far in a short space of time.

 

First game of the season I’ve missed. Avoided the score and just watched the highlights - what a finish by Neufville! Reading the comments on here, sounds like he was POTM as well.

What’s the story re Tommy Leigh? If I’m reading correct, he didn’t like been subbed. What was his reaction?

Sounds as though we weren’t as sharp as we have been in recent weeks and also rode our luck at times, how we ground out a good 3 points nonetheless. Fair summery?

 

Baldwin and Tilt missing. and a few more... We are in a. good place at the moment. Get and keep Patto match fit .... I do like Lapslie but not getting a look in. Cook has timed it to perfection....

 

Tilt had a knee brace on today. Looking like some time before he is back.
