Banks is a late decision it sounds like for them this weekend. His ankle issue doesn't sound as bad as they once thought. He was playing left wing in a 442 in the game against Barnsley i watched last week. It was 442, long balls to Ashley Fletcher (Bradford lad) and hope they get a head on. They have some talent in midfield too, no idea why this is the tactic of choice.

I wouldn't be surprised to see changes with just a 2 day break and then Rotherham on Thursday, nine days between games after that, plenty of time for some lads with knocks to take it easy.

Can't see us needing changes. Everyone told me how heavily we'd rotated to save ourselves for this game when I moaned about the line up so all our first choice players should be fresh as daisies!

I agree - Lapslie doesnt start ahead of Bobbie on current form, but he can still have a big part to play this season.

Bobby should have had 2 assists in the last 2 games(1 against world class opposition) so official stats don't always paint a true picture

8 behind the ball, long pumps to the front two. The first team to park the bus?

Meant changes from Newcastle, rather than Cardiff. Everyone who started against Cardiff apart from Baldwin starts for me depending on how bad Swan needed the rest.

Probably. Doesn't look like Ihiekwe and Casey are blessed with pace or a passing prowess at CB area. Bowler and Banks are trickier wingers than pacey ones, it's going to be beak away football from them.

Gonna be a tough game this. Pretty sure they're gonna sit deep and go direct when the opportunity arises and we tend to fair better against teams that come at us. Might not be a game where the press is as effective due to them not passing around the back.

Thinking similar, there's going to be little to press if their lads at the back have little interest in passing it between each other. Maybe a game for Cook to get 45/60 mins? Their CBs look like lads who want a battle rather than 40/50 passes each.

Unless Steve Bruce has a sudden tiki taka style he's waiting to pull out the bag to save his job!

I'm hoping Joe Wright is fit enough and Pennington shuffles to the right then it'll just leave TW in at left wing back with Touray coming back inside.

Could be a good game for Cook to get some more minutes because if they sit deep we may need to rely on crosses into the box to create chances.

I agree completely with that. I still favour us for a narrow victory and I've put us in my acca this week which I wouldn't normally do because of the hoodoo factor.

Hopefully Bruce will be eating Chicken Tikka for supper.

A player missing that sort of chance should not be in consideration for the number nine shirt. Literally put on a plate with all the trimmings

Because Bruce is a dinosaur. Yeh his resume is decent all things considered but he hasnt done anything of note for years. Blackpool fans have turned him a few times.

Bit of a stretch to class Cardiff as 'world class'!

I’d like to think were better equipped these days to have more success against teams who park the bus, especially given our more aggressive/pressing style.

That's my view too. We've got some pace with Touray and Neufville, as well as players like Bobby who are becoming more adept at creating space.

It's also nice that, potentially, they will have Cook to worry about coming on for the last twenty minutes or so which adds a very different dimension to our play.

Less than 1500 home tickets remain for tomorrow. Should be looking at 22k+. Cracking effort.
