The Voice - Match preview #1: MK Dons vs Bradford City Saturday 10th August 2024 @ 3:00pm

Descent first half, a little disappointed in our front two but this lot are no mugs, now they have money behind them they'll take some stopping.

 

Negatives

- Kelly and Baldwin have been poor defensively and with the ball for me.
- The passing has been abysmal at times.

Positives

- Winning 2-1 and Wright has had a good game.
- Smallwood is doing excellent in terms of stopping them playing through the middle but can’t do it all himself.
- Cook and Kavanagh link up well.

 

I see... The same crap and mistakes from last season are still there.. no improvement. It's a worry.

 

Cook has looked out of sorts but not getting much help. Smallwoods set pieces fail to shine as always, but there are more goals to come Im sure. Happy so far, rember these are probably favs to go up and they are at home. We should expect lots of MKD possession ..that’s how they play!

To be fair, possibly some of the nicest and politest stewards I’ve encountered for a long time!

 

Sarc looks out of sorts on the right, he’s not comfortable. Looks much better in the middle and seems to link up well with patto

 

A manager worth his salt is proactive. Kavanagh not in the game, Walker adds more bite in midfield. We have enough with Pattison and Sarcevic to support Cook.

 

I'm surprised they haven't had more than 58% as we saw last season they like keeping the ball, could be a backs against the wall second half and hope to catch them on the break.

 

In other news, Lewis messed up a cross similar to those that McGill dealt with well for MK and Dieng scored for Gillingham. Poor goal to concede.

Thing is, they do keep the ball but they also don't really press up the pitch so we should be more patient and pass the ball around. We'll get chances if we're patient. We won't get anything more if we're just kicking it up the pitch. More patience needed this half.

 

Forget on paper, this back three is nowhere near the required level on the pitch either. Shepherd needs to be decent or we'll continue to give up plenty of chances every game.

Cheer up everyone , we are two one up at a very good side. We are playing like a half decent L2 side , and look better going forward than last year so far . Hard 2nd half coming but fingers crossed we can hang on . Think we need another though .
