Maybe Halliday should have taken a yellow well outside the box, he was never going to win the one on one.

 

It's because their forward players are dropping deeper between the forward and midfield lines. Just look how often our centre backs are pointing at one of their players in front of them. Smallwood gets drawn too much to the ball. He needs to be more restrained and hold his position and pick up those deep players. Let Patto, Sarcevic, Kav and others pick up their deeper midfielders.

 

Exactly. The original comment is one reason why we fail a lot. What manager worth their salt subs off an attacker in the first game of the season after 30 midfielder for a midfielder

 

Glad we've seem out their spell of possession as it was looking like an equaliser was inevitable.

Midfield to say we've got 3 bodies in there has no cohesion at all. Nice to see we still can't cross for toffee.
