Alexander had words with him when he took him off, didn't seem happy at all. Jackson seemed to be arguing back until he was told to sit down and shut up.

 

Going out on a limb here but I wasn't particularly impressed by Beesley at all today. Twelve months ago there was similar adulation for Joe Wright and I commented that I thought he was poor. I think I got that one largely correct. Beesley was energetic but his attempts at jumping for headers were ineffective, he missed an absolute sitter in the second half and posed virtually no goal threat. A nuisance yes, but not much more and we need someone to put the ball in the net. Powell made an incredible difference when he came on and was everything Beesley was not. I'd be very happy to be proved wrong in the coming months but that's how I saw it today.

 

Thought that Pointon and Powell added that bit of quality and nous when they came on.
Battling performance all round and unlucky to see two great attempts foiled by the woodwork.
Good start to the season, now to Hillsborough!

 

Phillips will make a massive difference this season. We looked far more threatening in the final 3rd when he came on and what a ball for Powell.

I'd love to know what Jackson was smoking before the game, because he played like a bear with a sore head. In fairness his OTT aggression, vexed Peterborough (probably remembering what he did to them last time) but it was classic 'dogs at war' stuff and I think he as lucky to stay on the pitch.

So no idea why he thinks he shouldn't have been taken off - my only criticism of GA is that he didn't take him off immediately after his last indiscretion.

 

Yes. It's almost frightening to say this, but Sarc now looks the weak link. I'm surprised that GA has gone against his own mantra and made a place for Sarc to fit in - as opposed to him fitting in the system.

 

Frustrating for me. At times he had so much time to lob in a cross. 2nd half bobby was looking to pass forward but Touray 5 yds behind him. Believe in yourself and take a gamble and trust those behind you.

 

Beesley as bad as Peterbrough defenders for shirt grabbing so no issue for me that he got nothing from the ref. Keep you hands in front and make a meal of your shirt coming off your back.

Disagree with your assessment on both players. Beesley is a quality forward and a team player as Burton fans will no doubt testify. Fits into our system like a glove too. The goals will come.

 

Pleased with today. It was a comfortable afternoon and we created a number of good opportunities albeit against a very poor side. The new boys looked good and I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with Connolly again..

Hopefully Wright’s injury isn't too bad because I felt we missed him today. I like Touray as a LCB but as a wing back he just doesn't offer enough going forwards. If Wright’s injury is long term then that'll be another position on the shopping list.

Plenty of tougher games to come, starting with Thursday. And that'll be where we get a more accurate representation of how we fare this season.

I think there was an injury just after so that delayed the substitution, can not remember who it was just it was on Midland Road side of the pitch just off the pitch, so GA delayed to make sure a double sub wasn't needed

 

Expert analogy. Just how the hell did we did win that game with a short arse goalkeeper?

 

Based on today I'm surprised at how much praise he got. He was a 6/10 for me. I'm not sure what I'm missing that others saw tbh.

 

Totally disagree you could see the relief on their central defenders faces when he went off they were knackered he ran them ragged. And gives us a great focal point which we have lacked he did a great job
