If it's true he's refusing to sign a new contract then we may lose him for nowt eventually.
To me, he was one of the main players to give up from January onwards, maybe a fallout with Rahic, maybe being influenced by his buddy McMahon, I don't know but his demeanour was one of not wanting to be here. I'm not sure he'll give 100% is what I'm trying to say so maybe we should cut our losses on a goal scoring front and take a profit on the player, if it's on the table.

McMoan seems to have been a very disruptive influence but we did ok with him as captain which is very strange My main concern is that we get an adequate replacement and not just some third rate clogger otherwise an already difficult season could be made much worse

At some point we need to have an eye on the first team future and keep our stars (we have precious few) and build up for a promotion push We need to keep our top players happy otherwise no decent player will want to sign for us

 

I certainly wouldn’t sell him until a new manager has arrived. However, If too much water has gone under the bridge for whatever reason. I would sell him, but I want all the money upfront.

 

Sunderland will walk this league, with or without Wyke. According to their new owner, some championship clubs would love to have their budget.

That leaves one automatic and one playoff winners place up for grabs.

Surely this is what Rahic was talking about last week, when he was talking about the only way to compete with the big boys is to sell for big profits to generate more money into the budget. Even if the owners pocketed the initial outlay of £250,000 we would be left with £1,750,000 to add to the budget, taking us from mid table to probably top 4 or 5 in budget, it would actually help to justify their model.

All hypothetical of course, I think we'd get between £500,000-750,000.

 

If he goes for an undisclosed fee, we might never know.

Which ever way they go - Promotion or not ............ I expect a FULL HOUSE at VP when we play them, hopefully not in the freezing Winter period.

 

Your valuation is the same as mine (and I suspect, many more) - IF only CW hadn't been so Barren from January ........... Another 10 goals may have justified any calls for £2m.

 

It's funny how there are always a few defending the owners whenever a rumour surfaces - rubbishing any and all claims that aren't, let's say, proven - but when it's rumours and speculation about players sulking or influencing others, it's fair game?

Personally, I never saw too much of a change in Wyke's demeanour, other than he looked downtrodden while we were getting stuffed each week and he wasn't getting any chances.

My observation, too.
Not so much pissed off with the club - But pissed off with the lack of backing on the pitch. Scoring goals is his 'bread and butter' - this was often stifled, and so taken away from him.
But let's not take anything away from the debate .... Travelling down to VP most days with Tony Mac can't have been easy on the ears !
