Too soon. This is a really impressive squad of players that Drury and his team have got together. Let the best develop for another season, so they get their best chance at genuinely being able to feature in our first team squad. Or look at selling on a couple on for big money to develop with under 23s at Championship or even Premier clubs.

 

Dylan Youmbi has scored a lot recently, not sure what his tally is for the season

We should have our own U23's if we want to be self sustainable, let them progress there. I think the money you'd get for them now would be minimal

Do we need to upgrade our academy at this point?

 

If you're good enough, you're old enough. We don't want to over expose any of these kids and if they playing them would be a risk to their development then we shouldn't play them, clearly. But a couple of 10-15 cameos in games that don't really matter to us - if they're able to handle that opportunity - feels like a chance not to be wasted.

I don't know these kids at all. So I don't know whether they are 'kids' or whether any are young men.

 

Fantastic news and well done Martin, I would not consider anything before the final couple of first team matches and even then not sure - let the lads clinch there own league title and enjoy it. If they maintain their progress the time will come but no rush

Bearing in mind most players peak at 28ish why would you wait and potentially only get 5 of their years in the senior side??

 

all you have to do is look at the numerous wonderkids in football who've played week in week out from a relatively young age for a pro and how they generally look fecked by their late 20's.
