Remember what you are seeing there are streamers, being a caricature of yourself is somewhat of a requirement to be a streamer. You have to turn everything up to 11 as people tune in for that and it also sees people share it as you have done

 

When did watching someone watching a football match become a thing? Just when i think the 'socials' thing can't get any more ridiculous.

 

What's ridiculous about it? Firstly people tune in every week to Soccer Saturday to watch people watch and react to matches. Even before Soccer Saturday's final score would do it for the end of the matches.

And then second of all many of you come here ever game and spend the 2-3 hours discussing the match as a way to get that community feeling you miss out on by not being able to attend.

All streamers have done is take those two things and combine them and in most cases cater them to a single team's fans. After all streaming platforms like Twitch, Youtube live and Kick have chat rooms, where you can discuss things with your fellow fans and the streamers will also generally interact with chat.

Sadly the way football content creation is its hard to get a following if you are just yourself so in both the live streaming space and the YouTube video space it pushes the creators to often be an annoying caricature of themselves which is why they end up looking like idiots in this compilation (Even something like Stretford Paddock whose hosts are generally less extreme still plays up the camera) because that's what a lot of the younger audience want and it also brings in other teams fans to ridicule them but any view is income (Something AFTV really played too especially during the end of Wengers reign)
